I don't know, but I wish I had! I would have walked away with a lot more than a crummy hangover!

Didn't someone on ebay try to do that? Or was it just a woman that was "selling" the opportunity to touch her breasts? Can't remember...but doesn't really matter. In the end, ebay didn't allow it and it was taken down.
Why anyone would want to auction off their virginity to the highest bidder is beyond me.
Random dude #1: Guess what I got on ebay today?
Random dude #2: That thingamabob and that whatchamacallit that you've had your eye on?
Random dude #1: Yes...those things and something even better!
Random dude #2: What could be better than thingamabob and whatchamacallit?
Random dude #1: Oh...just some random girl's virginity.
Both Random dudes: Score!!
My point is that a person's virginity is just a little more special than some random thing you can find on ebay. You only get one first time...make it special for pete's sake!
As far as I know...selling sex for money is prostitution and that's still pretty illegal in the States.

You're probably thinking of what happened in Memoirs of a Geisha. Here's how the process worked in the book:
When an apprentice geisha became ready for mizuage (losing her virginity), she would distribute boxes of sweet-rice cakes called ekubo to her male customers. This would tell them that she was ready for mizuage. Any customer who was interested would bid a certain amount of yen. Their bids would be called in to the mistress of the teahouse where the apprentice worked most often. The highest bidder would get to have a one-night stand with the apprentice, and the money would go to the mistress of her okiya (geisha house).
Nowadays, people just advertise it on the Internet. It's basically one-time prostitution.

Why would you care to know anything about this dirty business? Did you know, that when people read your question, they assumed bottom low self esteem... Next time you talk about something, do take a moment to think what it really sounds like to others... Exchange of sexual favors for money is called prostitution. And it does not make any difference if it is your very first time or not....

I totally disapprove of it. Last year, there was an 18 year old boy in Australia who did the same thing. His pathetic excuse? "Its something special, so I want to find the right person to do it and I think this is the best way."
Don't blame his mother by the way - she was completely against it, but as he was 18, she had no legal power over him.
I don't understand why people would do this. Virginity - its your body, not a bike! You keep it till you know you're ready because you trust the person, not because they offered you the highest price!

I think you have to be sold into a Bangkok bordello at the age of 6, and at 12, they auction you off. Then the real fun begins...misery, Aids, and death.

Don't do it. Big mistake. Your body is a temple and you should treat as it is one. If you do that, the person you auction it off to is not going to appreciate your body because you didn't. So if you are in real anixous mode to get money go get a job.

Advertise for a lot of sad, sexually inadequate men on the internet, then post it on Ebay and refer the inadequates so they can start bidding.
But before you do so ask yourself, do you really want to lose your virginity to the kind of man who would a)have to have a virgin, and b) would bid for it?

She probably put it on eBay. But I find it very sad...isn't that prostitution? Plus how would anyone know if she was truthful? Not to mention the type of guy that would actually bid on virginity...gross!

I think that that is sad and I wouldn't recommend it because I wouldn't want my first time to seem so cheap and dirty.
