Trust. You can only connect with somebody on an emotional level if they allow you to. They will only allow you to if they feel you are worthy of their trust. Be open and honest in all your conversations and actions, this builds trust and intimacy.

become there really good friend. find who there best friend is and try to be like him. Many guys do have emotional "heart to heart" chats with their guy friends, but only 1 or 2 that are really really good friends
