US Government to be more exact.

Charly: But they could reverse things like forcing employers to hire women and pay fairly. And they could refuse to recognise such things as women's votes,(not that that's a big deal) and other such things.

S.P: You're funny but you miss the point, what if tomorrow we all woke up and found that all property held by women was no longer considered owned by anyone so the government seizes it? Hmmm?

Chev: Interesting. And kudos to you for understanding the question.

The government has been slowly rolling back rights for both men and women for a long time. But most people are too dumb to see it.

lady, you need help.
first off women and men would never stand for that. The government can't get rid of illegal aliens what makes you think it would be capable of seizing property and rights from all american women? where would it put them? welfare? the USA can barely pay for the welfare it has now.
I think I told you this before, if you have such a big problem with women's rights here, maybe you should leave. I hear Afganistan is great for its suppression of women. Maybe you should start looking for a husband there. And then later, drop us a line and let us know how you're doing...oh wait, that's right, there you wouldn't be allowed to. Oh well, why are you still reading this? Shouldn't you start packing?

If it were even possible to do away with all the gains made by the feminist movement over the decades, then things would slowly revert back to relegating women to second class citizenship. The Civil Rights Movement would also start losing the ground they've made as well. Why? Because there are too many people who take the Bible literally and they'd use that in the same way it was used to justify holding women and blacks back in the past.

what do you mean did away with the feminist movement? The ideology has already been sown and therefore people are much more aware of the need for equality. That's like saying getting rid of the civil rights movement will bring back slavery. The ideology has already been sown and i would like to think that even without the reinforcement provided by such groups, people will remember the good fought for.

How would they go about that? Put feminists in interment camps? Ban feminist media? Just seems rather unrealistic to me. I can see it now, feminist speakeasies...

Edit: Oh, well the subjugation of women, is quite a bit different than getting rid of the feminist movement. I think that if it came to that, the women would start pulling out guns, and have an armed insurrection. I'd probably go along with it for the heck of it. I'm sorry, but the idea of the US Government revoking woman's rights? I'd be more worried about the reinstallation of slavery. But yeah, it would be every woman grabbing their torch and pitchfork and marching for the capitol building.

And honestly, in this day and age, I think most men would probably help the insurrection. I know I would, both for ideological reasons, and because I've got a bone to pick with those fat cats, ever since I went to the DMV.

Well, then we would have to fight for the feminist movement. We are a nation of law, not of men, but it is men's duty to oppose such overreaching power of government.

Though there are a few feminist ideologues at this site that I would not miss if the government did away with them!!

What a wonderful idea! A step backwards is almost as cathartic as an enema . . . or dysentery. And, just think, once we got in such a medieval mood, Christians could kick all the Muslims out and burn a few just for spiritual jollies, the bigots could reinstate slavery and, why, we could even work eight year old boys in the mines again until they dropped dead . . . just like the good old days. Wouldn't it be WONDERFUL to get to drag a black kid behind a pick-up on Saturday nights again just like the good old days? I mean, really. If we let progressives continue on their march against the good old days, before you know it we'll have to even give up sexually molesting children. You are aware, aren't you, that liberals shoving their beliefs into our OWN homes is a violation of our natural rights to exploit people, our natural right to own slaves, our natural right to rape and be raped without fear of liberal courts interfering with our "ways", and our natural right to hate.

Unfortunately, there will always be a bunch of spoil sports who believe in religious, racial and gender freedom, why . . .they go so far as to believe ALL humans are human like you and me (!) . . . and they'd probably take to the streets and riot like a bunch of pinko hippies if we tried such as brilliant idea as ending all this liberal crap of equal rights for anyone except white Anglo Saxon males. What's WRONG with people anyway, these days? I mean, anyone in his right mind knows that God is a Christian white Anglo Saxon male who hates everyone else in the Universe except white Christian Anglo Saxon males. LOL. Oh, SPANK me! Spank me, daddy.

Edit: Wait! Could we pleeeeease bring back smallpox and the plague, too? I mean, REALLY! Is this or is this not supposed to be the land of economic plunder . . oops, I mean opportunity? As a hospice nurse, I'd make a killing (no pun intended) on a nice little plague every now and then. If we just "did away" with all those intelligent scientists and their unholy medicine and rationality, why, we'd be rolling in the stench of the "good old days" in no time. Let's "do away with" all people under 30, too. Just threw that in.

Lawyers and prosecutors would not be threatened to defend male victimizers or victims anymore, and the VAWA, which is fiercely protected by feminist organizations, would be dissolved. Also, a lot of studies over differences between men and women would come to light
oh, and people would be happier.
Carrie: FEMINISTS are the minority, most women are fine with equal rights, and don't want privileges at all.

There would be dancing in the streets. Children would gain the right to be with their dads and dv would be punishable even when it is a woman who commits it. Marriage would become something you worked at and tried to keep whole instead of giving up on because women get a bonus when they do. And lastly but very importantly men would feel like it is OK to be men again the stigma that male is bad would disappear for many rather quickly.

How, exactly, would they do that? Don't be silly.

But our government would have become a totalitarian dictatorship...and men's rights would soon be in jeopardy, since most dictatorships seek to remove the rights of all of its citizens. I mean, why just stop at half?
