When do you think?

Would you rather be the one making the first move?
Does it matter who makes the first move?

What do you think?

Im 20, in college and an extremely extroverted, nice, friendly and healthy young woman. Sometimes it sort of bothers me, however, to think that I have NEVER been asked out by a guy. I've never been out on a date with anyone although I have tons of friends who love me(in a platonic way). I'm also very outgoing and people perceive me as a very happy and self-confident person. So what could be a reason for this? I also want to mention that I am very short and brown-toned. Although I don't think that my looks could be the main reason for it, as people in all different sizes and shapes still have somebody, sometimes I do ponder about my appearance.
I have no clue as to why no guy has ever found me attractive or nobody has ever showed any interest in me in a romantic way.
What could possibly be the reason? I feel absolutely clueless.
Would I end up as the single 50-year-old virgin when all my friends would have kids already in school?

No guys have actually expressed any kind of interest in me before no matter how friendly we were to each other, and most of the men I know here in college or anywhere these days are either homosexual or in a relationship. Some people get shocked when they hear that I never had a boyfriend (which sort of makes me feel a little awkward). A lot of my girl friends (who are straight) think I am a beautiful and jovial woman with a really attractive smile and the best personality. So sometimes I just think that "How come I never had anybody into me?"
Another thing is that most of the guys that I found attractive were never really into me at all. Thus, I didn't even bother to make the first move anytime.

... to have sex with him before marriage? Obviously your son wouldn't know any better and wouldn't realize he should save himself for marriage.

Personally, I don't care how many partners a girlfriend has had in her past, and on the whole I find women who have had several or many lovers tend to have a clearer idea of what they like and want from a relationship.

I do wonder if men who want their women virginal are thinking of women in the same way they are thinking about cars. Saying things like "Oh she's second hand goods mate" - pure objectification.

I know I'm going to get the usual garbage about STDs posted here, so for the record, once again, Safe sex and regular testing is a better way to avoid contracting STDs than relying on someone telling you the truth about their past or being faithful. If your are going to cite STDs I have no time for your answer, though of course I can't prevent you from giving it.

So...Do men who want virginal women objectify women?

Divorce rates are sky high because neither the husband nor the wife need each other anymore. Kids are losing it because often both parents are out working until 8 PM.

What is the cause of the disintegration of American family values?

P.S. I put this question in this section for max action.

I mean there is nothing wrong with the heightening of the feelings and intimacy towards each other, and often a good relationship will ensue, but is it a MUST? Should a man be considerate a nasty dog for not wanting a relationship as a price for one-time sex... Why do women make us feel so guilty about this by saying things like, "oh you're like every other guy," "that was a mistake to date you," etc... What are your thoughts?

are they insecure of their feminity.?or is it less of being a woman, being flat for some women who do it.? does she realise that needs to be good enough for men..? now except for the delight of eyes for those curves, most men don appreciate an artificial effort.

A quick search through the internet revealed that the average annual cost for a baby (first year and the basic level of care) costs approximately $12,000.

Over the past week, we have seen many questions about financial assistance for families - and it always amazes me that people go ahead and have children when they can't really afford them. It is their right, they feel. But when they can't support them, they want financial assistance from the government.

So here's my question...and I would like both a male and female perspective on this. If a young couple went out and leased a Mercedes (less than the annual cost of the childcare) - something they could clearly not afford - what would you think? Would you question their sanity or values if they put themselves in financial jeopardy for a luxury vehicle? And would you see the same problem with them going ahead and starting a family?

I realize a car and a baby are different - but financial difficulty is the same for both...

Also, why must women insist that another woman's behavior has any effect on them? If a man makes a fool of himself, does he make the whole of mankind look bad? You make yourself look bad, no one else.

What does everyone here think of the trend of giving boys' names to girls? Many of the most popular names now - Makenzie, Madison, Dylan, Riley, Bailey, and others either were once only given to boys or have a distinctly "male" feeling to them. (And yes, all of these names are on the top 100 in the US right now.)

What is the resoning behind this? Is it cute, is it sex appeal, or do parents simply prefer unusual names? Madison is currently #3 for baby girls, so there clearly is a lot of appeal there.

What do you think about this from a feminist perspective?

the sexual revolution is defined by having sex, so why haven't I been thanked for empowering women?.

In today's culture, I often hear men say things like:

"If I take a girl home, I expect her "area" to be trimmed."
" I want a girlfriend who has enough experience in bed so that she knows how to please me."
" I hate it when you have a one-night stand, and the woman just keeps calling you to see you again."

Wasn't the whole point of sexual liberation to free ourselves from the expectations of men? Do you think we succeeded in this goal? Or did we actually free men from our own expectations of commitment? Do men these days expect more or less of the women they are casually dating?

I noticed several men pointing out in questions about women serving as soldiers that women are not physically as strong as men. No argument from me there. My question is:

Do men still feel that it is "extra" wrong to hit a woman, more so than hitting a man? Is this because women, on average, aren't as strong, or some other reason? Or do you think ideas like this are outdated?

A woman has been convicted for giving her husband a curry dish containing dog sh it. The thought of it has put me off curry for life. (Like when I stopped eating yoghurt when I discovered that the bacillus was made from incontinent geriatrics from east Europe. Or when I found that beard shavings were routinely used in making bread dough.)

What would be the most apt punishment for this woman?

Do you find any truth in this sentiment? Or any truth vise versa with males? Not so much physical appearance but complicated personalities is what I am asking about.

I ask this question because both my husband and me are pretty simple in our emotional wants and needs, and I have to imagine that is why we are happy in our relationship. He is mild tempered and I am somewhat of a complicated person, so do we just balance out? Maybe the song should go “if you are a complicated person, don’t make a pretty women you wife…”

Sooo the question I pose is that is we were complicated emotionally would we be less happy? This is a philosophy of sorts that I have come to believe over time.

Thoughts or comments very welcome?
