well, its tough one, i had the girls over the other night and my boyfriend (and this is totally unlike him) kept reffering to me as his wife and kept saying 'i love you' ect.
if i did that in front of his mates i imagine he would not be best pleased but all my friends were going 'ahhhh, thats so cute' ect that it felt quite nice. we were in asda last nite and he said as his best mate calls me princess he was gonna call me 'your majesty' from now on, i can dig that i guess...

My hubby calls me by my nickname, in fact when he says my real name Im like Uh oh what have I done lol. I have 2 mates that have nicknames for me which make me laugh - 1 calls me princess, and the other calls me angel. Nicknames are nice, or real names. Id hate to be referred to in a derogatory way tho like ball n chain, her indoors, the boss, etc etc. Have a good day Princess!!xx

It's the old 'time and place' syndrome here.Anything official or formal even if it's with friends I always use her name or sweet heart.If we're just meeting informally then usually I call her bint which was the name given to serving wenches in the 17th century.

Yeah I'd prefer to be introduced by name and then the fact I'm his girlfriend or partner. Cute names are ok in private but not in general conversation.

I think if it's sweet/romantic I like it but if it's overdone it gets a bit annoying. If it's slang or a pet name I guess its OK but also can be overdone a bit like 'hey there cupcake' etc etc lol.

In front of other people, I like him to say, "my girlfriend", or use my name or nickname.
Once he referred to me as his "friend", and I didn't like that. It's not romantic.
