Smile. When you know who you are on the inside, no one can make you do anything you do not agree with. Fashion is not a law, it is simply guidelines. Remember that please. We all are blessed with all kinds of shapes and sizes, so we have to be creative and open minded with the fashion choices.

Well you can do this for example:
There is a song at a club and the lyrics are non-sense
like "You dun came in the room and started handling thangs
First start wit brain
Then i'ma beat the p****y up
Hit it from the back
And beat the p****y up
Girl why you fronting d
Doing all that running
Be yo *ss still
Long d**k coming"
(ying yang twins)

And every other girl is shaking their thing out on the dance floor to that nasty song- Just Don't.
These women don't realize what they are supporting....
They think that they are dancing to a good time song
but if some one came to your face and literally spoke to you what those lyrics say you'd be offended. So it doesn't make sense to dance to it, Now does it?
As a group though its difficult because Not everyone thinks its wrong. A lot of people become part of the media and feel lost if they are not up to date with it. So i think as individuals we stand up for what we believe and walk away from what we don't think is right. More people will start doing that as well and follow.
I mean there are many people that stay quiet because they are scared that they wont be cool and what others will say
So I feel as individuals we need to let those people know what "cool" really is- Someone that can think for themselves without that crew or the media and still succeed in life. But thats just me...
:)

The media often portrays people as something they're not just for the shock effect and ratings, but that doesn't make the people become what they're described to be. People are free to do and be whatever they want to be. By choosing to be modest, you'll be helping to prove the media wrong.

Guys are guys and we love to force women into sexually compromising positions for our own pleasure. And while women have always controlled the sexual climate at a social level, most have bought into the lie that they need equality in the bedroom to be happy. Fact is, that they are the ones who suffer from unwanted pregnancies and the horror of abortion and cervical cancer while the guys literally walk. Read "Return to Modesty" by Wendy Shalit and start a revolution.

So are you suggesting that the media is making it more difficult for women, in general, to remain modest? Yikes!

I think that you have much bigger problems than modesty if you feel that influenced by the media...

That's a very good point. The portrayal of women as sexual objects is encouraged by men.

Being modest is an individual decision, and leading by example.

The media is pretend/entertainment. It is not a real life situation. Be yourself and remain modest if that is what you want to do.

Just because the media says one thing, does not mean you have to play into it. This might sound crazy but the TV is not always right. If you watching MTv or BET (as much as I hate them) and you decide to copy what you see, that is your choice, a bad choice but none the less YOUR choice.

By using our noggin and not our scanties to get attention. Those so easily influenced by the media need a dose of reality, because the rest of the real world isn't like showing everything to everyone.

At least not without alcohol. :)

Ignore the media. It gives a view of the world that can be kindly described as distorted, and has nothing to do with reality.
