I mean there is nothing wrong with the heightening of the feelings and intimacy towards each other, and often a good relationship will ensue, but is it a MUST? Should a man be considerate a nasty dog for not wanting a relationship as a price for one-time sex... Why do women make us feel so guilty about this by saying things like, "oh you're like every other guy," "that was a mistake to date you," etc... What are your thoughts?

please dont be so hypocritical here! women, you know it, if a guy tells you he only wants to have sex with you once or twice, you 'll never go to bed with him in the first place. Dont hate the player, hate the game.

Simple answer: the world is a mess today. It is a bit disturbing how Asian women have such a strong preference for the white male, but, this statistic only holds truth in America. In Korea, most Korean women have a preference for Korean men. It just so happens that America is the most passive-aggressive as far is racism is concerned, and this has surfaced as a preference for Whites males in Asian women. Additionally, mixed race (half-Black and half-White) women are also idolized within the Black community. The real culprit here, is that White Males are still being viewed as the most superior beings on the planet in Western societies, and everybody wants one (or wants to be one).

I don't think anybody should be obligated to be in a relationship, but lying to them about wanting to be in a relationship with them is a different story. As long as your honest I don't see anything wrong with that. You are your own person and make your own decisions and shouldn't have to be forced into anything that you don't want to do.

Collette- Your circular reasoning makes absolutely no sense. You say it means more to women yet men want it more? Not only is that a generalization, but a clearly wrong one as well. What something means to a person is it's value, guys on average I would say place a higher value on the sexual aspect of a relationship than women do. (compared to other qualities.)

Aren't you the guy who wants a "pure" wife?

No it's not a must. There are those in my past I didn't want a relationship with either. There were also some that I didn't sleep with and I am still friends with today.

Besides, I always knew whether it was a passing fancy or not. If the guy gets up to leave after, you know it's going no where. Because if he really likes you, he'll stay. At least for a while.

It never ever worried me. I knew the score with men. Funny thing was, men would expect me to be thinking that I wanted a relationship with them when that wasn't the case at all and boy were there some confused men out there.
Way I see it, if men can play the field, then they shouldn't be so surprised when a woman doesn't want a relationship either.
Now that's equality. And quite enjoyable too.
But it's not something that I take a good view on or do anymore. Men don't deserve to have their feelings hurt.

Men and women see sex very differently. Men see it as a physical action, while we women see it as a physical and emotional action. This affects our views of one night stands. Some women see one night stands as getting to the sex sooner rather than later, then having a relationship, as opposed to the other way around. Sometimes if a woman finds out that a man is not interested in the relationship part, she may be confused and even a little hurt (this isn't true of all women though) and that's when the "oh you're like every other guy" line comes out. Overall, not all women feel that men are obligated to have a relationship. Some women want what men want, just sex.

Not all women feel like that but if the woman is sleeping with the man in HOPES of a relationship then her bad. If the man promises a relationship and then uses her for sex outright then his bad.

I think people often sleep together too soon and try to build on that - dumb idea.

I havent seen much of this. I value communication. I've never had a problem with a woman regarding a one night stand if I've communicated with her that it is all I am looking for. Sounds like you may have had bad luck. If you have a dating pattern, perhaps that is why you may have run into this multiple times. I like variety when I date.

The way this question is prefaced sounds to me as though you are suggesting that "all" women are this way. It also sounds as if not a single man has ever reacted this way (Which is untrue. My friend was hurt when a one night stand didn't turn into more for him...)

Sorry for the possible rough time you've had. Hope things get better!

"Don't hate the player, hate the game"? How about if I just hate people who drag that tired line out every time they get called a pig?

Tell you what, if you're so bothered by having to pay the "price" of a one-night stand (i.e. a relationship), then I suggest you limit your sexual encounters to professionals: they can bone you and leave before you even fall asleep.

I agree with you. I had a few one night stands back in the day and didn't expect anything but alot of women do.
