Why I think for whatever reason society sees a completely nude man as pornographic or more naughty or raunchy I guess than a woman completely naked. I guess because a man's privates protrude out and everything is there dangling, while the female genitalia is neatly tucked away, so one usually just sees a slit and some tufts of pubic hair. A lot of movies will show women naked but more in the playboy manner, and not in the "hustleresque manner", which would be having the legs spread and a close view with the labia and clit shown. Because thehn this would be rated as porn now, just as the completely nude male, because now the female nudity has become "explicit" and "raunchy".

I guess since the male member naturally shows it all, it is deemed naturally explicit, thus pornographic. And another reason is because, let's face it, men are the one's the decide what is shown in the media and still dictate the images, and most men are straigh so of course they are going to have naked women in movies. Women don't mind or deal with it better, because women like to compared since they are always looking for tips and admiring beauty to better themselves. And women are more secure with their sexuality than many men who are homophobic.

It's not that women don't like a handsome well built man and don't find it sexy and attractive, because I'm sure they do. They have other factors they look for in men, therefore, it's not as important for women to care so much regarding that. Men also don't want to see naked men, which is obvious. But what is funny about this, is while a straight rather see a chick, it's funny how some men get so bothered with a naked man coming across a screen in a movie.

I mean what's the big deal? Some like freak out or want to turn the channel or something. If a guy is straight as he pounds his chest in this claim, why would a simple male nudity shown bother a man so much. While I would obviously rather see a chick, a dude naked walking or whatever doesn't bother me, it's just a shoulder shrug from me like whatever.

I would rather see more male bodies in movies. Apparently, many filmmakers don't seem to notice or even care that about half the viewing audience does not admire the female body and really gets tired of looking at other women's breasts. If you're a female, the female body is not beautiful. I much prefer the straight lines of the male body. I like the wide shoulders, the narrow hips, and the lack of breasts on the male body much better than breasts, hips, and small waists on women's bodies.

I read once (and this is not my opinion necessarily, it's just something I read) that American film studios have polled people and found that neither men or women are offended at seeing women naked, but American men get "uncomfortable" seeing other men naked on screen. Must be some pretty shallow men they polled. Are they afraid they'll turn gay if they see another man naked?

I think it is seen as more risque to show a man with full frontal nudity. There was even a recent film with Colin what's his name? from Ireland where they cut out the full frontal scenes because of concerns about them. Additionally, we are a highly sexualized society and it has been for years the norm to show women nude as opposed to showing men.

Do I think this is right? No. Society is slow to change, though...

The majority of the population do not want to see a male naked whereas seeing a female naked is good from a mans point of view and just seeing a friend in a females.

The male nude torso is shown far more frequently than the female nude torso. You can see shirtless males on primetime TV, but not so for females in the US at least.

Of course, most people do not consider them to be the same, but the fact remains there's plenty of male skin to be seen in the media.

That's plenty for me. What more do you want?

The male body is not offensive. It's just that in films, women are more likely to be shown naked for the male viewers benefit. Women are more capable of imagination, so they don't have to see the whole picture. Also men are less likely to let themselves be filmed nude. I don't know why. Maybe it has something to do with why men are more likely to watch pornography than women.

It's because this is a man's world and men do not want to see a naked man. They are turned on by naked women not men.

They show the male's southern region occasionally on HBO I believe...IMO, the male body is very nice to look at...when it's well taken care of, that is.
