It is very common that girls value their girlfriends' approval on everything: men, clothes, jobs, relationships, etc... Guys usually couldnt care less what other guys think. So ladies, why do you let your friends rule your mind?

Does the quality of womens future, deserve no better than the quality of the men they sleep with? What do your actions portend for the status of womens independence? Do the men you choose to love, fair well for their perception of other women?

I had a good friend who got raped, she use to go out with men alot and she was in love even with a guy! After the rape she tried to kill herself, then she kept changing her appearance like she was trying to find a different person within her to accept. Now she prefers women to date? Does this happen alot?

You name it... interior designers, makeup artists, kindergarten teachers, florists, hairdressers... Many of those guys are homosexual. Do you think they got the gender-inappropriate job because they're gay? Or did they become gay as a result of gender-inappropriate career choice?

goes to a strip club with his friends for fun?

Is it the money spent? The idea of another woman turning him on? They assume he'll cheat? What's the real deal?

(I thought of this after hala's question about polygamy.)

I mean it would be totally open and you both know about each other.

I wouldn't and I wouldn't want 2 bfs either. Just having 1 bf is complicated enough for me now LOL! :)

But when I think about it I really can't think of a reason why I just don't feel good with it. Is it just social brain washing that feelings of romance should be for just one person and not shared?

How do you feel about it?

OK I don't want to offend anyone but polygmy is something I can't understand and I can't fathom why any women would ever go for this, why marry a woman collector? How can they stand it? Why does anyone want to do that?
One man...one woman that's a marriage!

Now we can all get the perfect nose, women can have the breasts they dream of and men can add an inch or two in all the right places....

Are we simply lucky to be able to get body modifications of choice, or..

is the desire to modify our bodies a consequence of celebrity images that apply unreasonable pressure on normal people to aspire to images of beauty that are only truthfully obtainable with the aid of very good camerawork?

Should we be concerned, or should we celebrate?
Should we do a little of both?

excerpt:
Safety trumps safe sex for teens in abusive relationships
Jill Morrison, Senior Counsel
National Women’s Law Center

This is one of the more disturbing headlines I’ve read lately. “Teen Girls Report Abusive Boyfriends Try to Get Them Pregnant”

My first instinct was to ask where young men are learning these tools to oppress and degrade, but on quick reflection, the real question is where are they not learning them? From judges, to legislators, to pharmacists and hospitals that impose their beliefs on others, to the protestors outside of the now-delayed clinic in Aurora, Illinois – it would be impossible for a young man, especially one with the proclivity to abuse, to not recognize the power that comes with forced procreation.

Do you think, in some cases, men purposely get women pregant? (it's contrary to the belief that women are the guilty ones, isn't it?)

This guy started a web site to "help" women raise money to get breast implants. The women, in turn, have to show 'benefactors' the results.

Implants can cause pain, hardness, numbness, toxic shock syndrome; there's been a few deaths from gangrene; sometimes additional surgery is needed; and it can be difficult to breastfeed or detect cancer on mammograms (according to breastimplantinfo.org)

This guy insists his site is beneficial to women (funny enough, his girlfriend disagrees but i guess she doesnt have any pull!)

What are your thougths? It will be interesting to hear both men and women's opinions.

Violence against women has been compared to a Holocaust -

http://www.digitalnpq.org/archive/2006_spring/21_ali.html

excerpt:
Between 113 million and 200 million women around the world are demographically “missing.” Every year, between 1.5 and 3 million women and girls lose their lives as a result of gender-based violence or neglect. As The Economist, which reported on the DCAF paper, put it last November, “Every two to four years the world looks away from a victim count on the scale of Hitler’s Holocaust.”

(also, see her bulleted list of factors for some explanations - too many to list here)

In this article, the author calls on Western women to unite and fight this human rights abuse.

Were you aware of the severity of the problem? What do you think people can do to help solve it?

Do you think international pressure or shame or something else would work?

It's ok for men to sleep around but not women. How can we defeat that double standard? It should be ok for women to sleep around too.

I've used a few women's restrooms and have never seen this but women have told me about it.

Before you criticize me for using a women's restroom, you must understand that when you gotta go, you gotta go! Sometimes the men's restroom was out of order, and I've been to a couple concerts where the men's restroom actually had a line and the women's didn't.

If it's true about the couches and chairs, what are they for? Are they so women can sit down while doing their makeup?

There is no real feminist or gendered discussion here just a load of women haters (male and female) and a load of women who say "I'm not a feminist but....." If you have no interest in gender or you hate women and wanna write hateful things about them keep it to your personal diary and get some good therapy, it would be nice to have a real discussion about gender inequality on here without being trashed by trolls! I'm sure many people on here agree with me too.

Not to blow my own horn, and maybe I attract them because I'm short, but I have noticed a lot of men prefer short women. I found an article to support this claim also. When I asked one of my exes, he denied the boost of manhood factor, and explained that shorter women are more feisty and have more fire LOL....not sure if I buy into that...
