I've used a few women's restrooms and have never seen this but women have told me about it.

Before you criticize me for using a women's restroom, you must understand that when you gotta go, you gotta go! Sometimes the men's restroom was out of order, and I've been to a couple concerts where the men's restroom actually had a line and the women's didn't.

If it's true about the couches and chairs, what are they for? Are they so women can sit down while doing their makeup?

The couches and chairs are there for:

a) Kids who have to sit and wait for us when we're walking through some public place.
b) Friends who go into the bathroom with us.

But they only appear in a very few bathrooms.

I've done janitorial work. Some women's restrooms have couches, or at least a chair, for breastfeeding moms, or women who need to hug themselves through a fit of cramps, that sort of thing. Used to be a fairly common feature, but it's rather less so now. On the other hand, today you find baby changing stations in men's rooms.

About peeing on things: A lot of people miss the pot. And it's a crap shoot which of the two restrooms on a floor is gonna hit me with the worse reek.

Oh, I gotta throw this in: Guys are a LOT less casual about disposing of the baby poo. I've never had to scoop a loaded diaper off the floor in a men's room.

Lol, well it depends on where you go. My father was the head chef at a prestigious upscale hotel and the bathrooms there were beyond belief. They had couches, a telephone, personal hygiene products, etc. It was kind of cool.

But then you have other restrooms like at the movies where there's just a stall, some mirrors, and a sink.

because men don't need to breastfeed lol I've been in those restrooms and it usually reeks in the restroom so I'd rather stand and wait outside than wait on the couch and almost want to hurl because of the nauseous gases from fartbombs.

They were originally for breastfeeding, to provide a comfortable private place for a mother to feed her baby and contain or diaper an older toddler on the sofa next to her. Now, most bathrooms have diaper changing stations and public breastfeeding is more acceptable.

Some..few woman's bathrooms have it. Like we wanna lounge around while sucking up the air of someone elses dump. ha. At least guys don't have in their bathrooms those used Kotex bins hanging on the wall right next to them in the stalls. People! They all go on the floor!

In some upscale restaurants and hotels, the restrooms do have couches and chairs but everywhere else, they don't.

The reason men don't have them is because they can trust us not to pee on them. jk

Usually they are put in for women who breastfeed.

I've worked at a few large companies that have them as well. Some women use them like lounges or cafeteria's.

at some department stores they do, or at churches and funeral homes. have you ever noticed women never go to the bathroom alone? they sit and talk for a while. and people always have to wait on them. also, generally its the women who do the 100000000 hour shopping, its nice to have a cozy private place to rest

The couches are for people that don't want to stand up to wait and for restless children. Also for people that cant walk well.{like old people}but they only appear in fancy places usually.
