Many men mistakenly take the fact that women (tend to) show more discretion and have higher standards as indicating a lack of interest in sex, per se. And many men take the fact that women (tend to) want other things (affection, trust, romance, understanding, commitment) along with sex to mean that they don't want the sex at all, but just trade the sex for the other things. It's a mistaken but somewhat understandable view.

I find the answers from the women interesting, most seem to state they have high sex drives - that's great!! As a guy, why would I complain ;-)
However I tend to believe that it largely depends on the stage that the woman is at in her life. Much as it does for men when they get older.
Also, I too have found that (some) women have tried to use sex as a bargining tool in relationships. Its not very nice, but it happens.
PS. Shivers, in line with the feminists rhetoric in some of the answers.....maybe it is you that is doing something wrong if you are not getting what you want.

In the past, women have been discouraged from showing initiative in the bedroom, and the female orgasm was considered a myth. Sex, at the time, was only an act for men. Even though things have changed drastically, some minds haven't.
Furthermore, some guys might believe women don't like sex because they don't give it up easily.

Because in and out gets boring after a while.
Men, when your woman is hinting at wanting to try new things, it would be worthwhile to listen, and you may even have more fun too.
Haha, in line with feminist thinking hey, False Oracle? Well I can almost certainly guarantee that the feminists here believe that I'm no feminist.
I just tell it straight, mate. And I get plenty enough in the sack.

I can only speak for myself. It's not that I think women don't like sex. But I definitely believe that women are about 1/20th as interested in sex as men are.
Without being too specific? That's kind of hard because I have to use examples to explain it.
In most relationships, the men complain about not getting enough sex. This isn't true in all relationships but it's so common that I hear guys talking about it constantly, I see sitcom jokes made about it constantly, and I have personally experienced it in every relationship I've been in.
Women seem to enjoy sex a great deal when they're actually having it. But to get them to want to have it is a huge effort. I've never understood how women can enjoy sex so much but then not care whatsoever about having it again for the next 2 weeks.
Also, outside of relationships, single women never seem to be looking for sex. They're looking for love and romance. Men go out to bars and clubs specifically looking for sex and it's near impossible for men to be successful in their search because women are so reluctant to have sex. And its not like I'm talking about creepy guys that come on too strong or anything either. A man can be good looking and nice and everything a woman wants, but none the less, he'll have a near 0% chance of going out and getting laid because women don't want to have sex until their in a committed relationship.
And, like I said above, even once they are finally in a committed relationship, they still never wanna it have it.

I was under the impression Women find it harder to climax, compared to the ease for men.
Women can really like sex, but they can more easily (and often) also not enjoy. Most men enjoy any and all sex, all the time!
So from a man's perspective Women broadly can seem relatively impartial!

I have no idea why they would think that, unless that woman show no interests when it comes to sex or they just flat out told you that they don't like sex.
No men wouldn't ever think that about me,or they would just be clueless...hehehe..........

This one doesn't.
The ones who do might be doing something wrong?
Or are with women who have a low sex drive?
Don't really know...

Like Wendy said, men who believe this are doing something wrong and rather than admit it, they chalk it up to women not liking sex.
