It is very common that girls value their girlfriends' approval on everything: men, clothes, jobs, relationships, etc... Guys usually couldnt care less what other guys think. So ladies, why do you let your friends rule your mind?

I view it as men need to be lead. That's the they're so sucesful in the military right? Plus, what would you do if u'r bff said u'r girl had a weird nose??? (referencing Movie, Shallow Hal).

I can't speak for why you don't listen to your friends, but I think you are wrong. If anything, I feel as though the way guys act around each other is totally for each other's approval.
However, I almost wish I let my friends rule my mind more. They are almost always right and can see things that I can't because they are not so involved in my situations. Perhaps you just need some better friends... ;-)

i think the same question could be asked of men as well!! it's not so much that we are looking for "approval" but trying to keep the ties/bonds that make girlfriends work! women generally have issues trusting other women, so we have to find a common ground, ie shopping, clothes, hair, etc. some friends are closer than other so we will value their opinion to a certain degree, but we have minds of our own and don't need to be influenced by anyone!!

Came back cause I had me a rethink. Women are creatures who live on approval; some more or less than others. Okay then taking it from there, we want our friends to approve of our man, our dress, what have you, cause if they don't it may mean the end of the world for us; take or give a few. Just keep in mind every thing with a woman is based upon approval. You see it yourself don't you?

Interesting question. I don't know if it's that we let our friends rule our minds; we value their opinions and input. Some women probably place too much weight on their friends' opinions, but I think most of us just like to use discussion to come up with many possible solutions and figure out what's best. We can then draw on a larger range of ideas and experiences (those of our own and of our friends) and talk out the best course of action. I find it helpful, but I certainly think for myself when it comes down to it!
