I have an under-active thyroid condition and am currently taking Thyroxine tablets. I have recently read some comments from people on a Thyroid Forum stating that Co enzyme Q10 can work wonders for Thyroid disorders, increasing energy etc. Does anybody know if this is the case and if it is safe to use these two medications together?

I have a friend whose daughter cannot fully speak. this kid is 3 yrs.old and could only say few words like 'mommy', 'daddy', while she says other words in abbreviated form. She has no hearing deficiency and could fully understand what her parents say. The doctor in our area said her condition has nothing to do with her throat. So probably this is a neurological problem. Could someone tell me what is her condition? I mean she's 3 yrs.old yet she can't speak! This cannot possibly be a case of a late bloomer thing or others. So please.. could you give me any possible diagnosis for this kid? Thanks. I appreciate it a lot.

Please read the story below!

A little boy died because surgeons found ants in his brain! Apparently this boy fell asleep with some sweets in his mouth or with some sweet stuff beside him. Ants soon got to him and some ants in fact crawled into his ear which somehow managed to go to his brain. When he woke up, he did not realize that ants had gone to his head. After that, he constantly complained about itchiness around his face. His mother brought him to a doctor, but the doctor could not figure out what was wrong with him. He took an X-ray of the boy and to his horror, he found a group of live ants in his skull. Since the ants were still alive, the doctor could not operate on him because the ants were constantly moving around. The boy finally died.

Please is this possible? Kindly give a detailed explanation of your answer.

I want to go to med school.
But I havent made up ,my decision of want kind of doctor I want to be.
The choices are
1.General Surgeon
2.CardioVascular Surgeon
The general surgeon pays less then the cardiovascular surgeon but less time in school.
The cardiovascular surgeon is more time in school , but better pay.
I like the both but I need a second opinion!

I've been taking Zantac, but if I miss a dose I get worse heartburn than when I took nothing. Is there a OTC that works when I get heartburn and doesn't cause a necessity to take it?

I am interested in attending an osteopathic college, but I need help on what I should emphasize on while trying to apply. I have read that I need a letter from a current D.O., but I know none, and am having a hard time tring to get someone to hear me out. How does someone like me get my foot in the door? I am a "stand-alone" student, meaning my parents and their parents never made it past high school, so this is new to everyone. I need guidance and advice, for this is something I really want to do. I am currently working on a BS in Alternative Medicine in Tampa Bay, Florida, hoping to use that as a help into college. Any advice would be awesome and appreciated, and any reference would be heavenly!

I am terrified of vaccines!!! It's the pain, and the idea of a needle piercing through my skin! So, I am getting a vaccine this week, and I was wondering if I could ask the doctor/nurse to put something on my arm to numb it. Such as a numbing cream, or something of that kind. Will that affect the purpose of the vaccine, or can the doctor/nurse do that? PLEASEEE HELP! I NEED TO KNOW!
