I want to go to med school.
But I havent made up ,my decision of want kind of doctor I want to be.
The choices are
1.General Surgeon
2.CardioVascular Surgeon
The general surgeon pays less then the cardiovascular surgeon but less time in school.
The cardiovascular surgeon is more time in school , but better pay.
I like the both but I need a second opinion!

You are going about this the wrong way.

First, you should go to medical school and THEN decide what kind of doctor to be. You will learn things your first year that will indicate to you which is the best way for you. How much school is involved and how much money it pays are not the only factors in this question. You need to see what your talents and interests are, too. You need to make sure you are doing the one you will ENJOY the most. If you do not have job satisfaction, then all the money and time in the world won't mean a thing.

In the end, however, there is only one person who can really answer this question: YOU. Good luck with med school!

The choice is yours. A general surgeon gets to see a wider range of surgeries but a Cardio Vascular Surgeon can be a very excellent choice. I think once you have done your med school etc. it will be much easier to see what field you want to go into. There is no need to rush now because the basics are for all M.D.s ....Who knows you could change your mind altogether and become a brilliant pediatrician.

The good news is that you don't have to decide on a specialty until you are almost finished with medical school.

CT surgery might look like fun, but it's a rough existence, and they are VERY hard on their residents/fellows. I'm talking serious humiliation, nastiness and getting dumped on, on a daily basis. If you're female, double the abuse.

General surgery is rough, too, and you have to get through that before you can start CT surgery.

If you go straight through high school - college - med school - residency - fellowship, you'll be able to get a job when you are 33-35 years old.

If that's what you're meant to do, you'll do it, but keep your mind open to other specialties. (Anesthesiology is a good one! All the fun of the OR, not so much of the abuse)

Good luck with your studies!

If you want to be a doctor go to medical school and learn medicine first. Specialization comes later on. After joining to the medical school you might change your area of interest and you might become something else (I mean some other specialist like Gyne or Ophalmo etc...)
Moreover, you are more concerned about money so I am not sure whether you are really fit to be a good doctor. Business would be a good choice for you. Good luck.

ya i agree with Mr.Taco because if u go for the better paying job and you are unhappy and there is too much stress then ur work is gonna seem like a chore. u want a job where u can wake up every morning and look forward to it. i too want to work in the medical field. i have chosen to be a pediatrian because i love children and im comfrotable working with them. think about this, if u live i a huge mansion and ur working in high paying job driving a mustang but yet u are unhappy and overworked by that time u would have wished that u had gone for the job. MOST IMPORTANTLY pick an occupation that u will ENJOY.

I know a couple of people going through med school at the moment and they all had grand ideas of what type of Dr they were going to be.

Now...they are just focusing on becoming a dr and then will decide in the future what they will be.

When doing your course you will find what interests you most. It may not be Cardio, it could be genetics, neuro, etc.

Don't worry too much about it now, just get through your course first.

If you are mostly concerned about your potential income, you probably do not belong in medicine. The cost of a medical education has become astronomical, the pay continues to decrease, the work is exhausting, and you must constantly worry that you will be sued.

Go into banking or law school.

Well before you can even choose, you need to go 4 years of premed, then 4 years of med school and 3-6 of residency.

After that you can choose to specialize in the area of your choice.

along the way you will see what you like and what you are good at.

best wishes.
