When a person is determined to be brain dead, and organ donation approved, it is my understanding that ventilation and other methods continue to be used to keep the blood flowing through the organs. What would be the effect on the organs if life support were first withdrawn to allow the person to die in every sense of the word? How much would be lost if organs were then harvested?

I ask because I think I'd be more comfortable allowing donation after a loved one's heart had stopped beating. Strange, because I had a son die at 15 for lack of enough hearts. Still, I want to know.

you can feel the nerves in your spinal cord tense and tingle? I have before and it feels so weird. My face flushed and blushed.

Physiogically, what is going on? Does it have to do with feeling the ACh or NO neurotransmitter in the spinal cord, if so, why?

I have scoliosis and I'm thinking to find a cure of it. Some commercials mentioned about chiropractice but I doubt it because it's said: without medication nor operation. Anybody can tell me what it is? How do they do it? How usefull it is for my problem? And is it expensive? (for this question please tell me what country are you from). Thank you..

my BF can barely hear out of one ear. We started swimming a few days ago and thats when this all started. He told me it felt like it was clogged with water... but when he used a QTip, this dark brown sluggy stuff came out. (looks like mud - its not really liquidy at all) and there's tons of that stuff in his ear. we tried peroxide in his ear, flip his head and let it drain out. it help for only a few minutes. i think he needs to go to the dr. to get antibiotics.. but its friday night... and tuesday's a holiday so it may take a few days to get in. Any suggestions? He says its not painful, but its completely blocked up. any good advice would be really appreciated. thanks :)

A nursing home, hospital, private duty, etc.? I'm wanting to go to school for nursing but I want to be sure about what my goal is after I'm done. I worked as a CNA for a few years and the nurses in the nursing homes seemed to have it easier than the nurses in a hospital. I really don't want easy but want all the experience I can get. What you hardworking nurses think?

1) How hard is it to get into med-school?
2) I know you need a lot of science. Last year in science I had an A+ throughout the entire year. I'm taking Biology next year instead of the regular science course. What other science classes will help me? Or what other classes in general?
3)What are some med-schools out there?
