Why do the new drugs seen on T.V. commercials come with side effects that seem more harmful than the sysmtoms they claim to help?

it's because of the medical legal issue. All drug manufacturers by law has to disclosed all possible side effects (however rarely they occur) on their advertisements including TV, magazines, etc...

The side efftects may seem extreme, but its very rare that they would occur. The drug companies have to list the side effects in order to properly inform you. However if you talk with your doctor he/she will tell you that many of those side effect only occur in 1 in 1000 or more, depending on the medication of course.

All drugs have side effects and usualy they are mild to harmful depending on their use. The newer medicines that are advertised are more niticable due to the nature and informativity of the new new medicines and in all instances should be explained to you by a medical professional.
