Balamurali Ambati, born July 29, 1977, of Hollis Hills, New York State, USA, became the world's youngest doctor when he graduated from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City on May 19, 1995 at the age of 17. "We taught them to be focused, to desire accomplishments," said hsi father Dr Rao who fought school administrators to allow his son to study at his own pace, which was nearly twice as fast as his peers. After graduating, Balamurali continued his education at Harvard specializing in ophthalmology.
