I've been on Lexapro for about 6 mo.s for depression. I don't notice a huge difference, I think it may have helped some. I still have the same anxiety.

I started gaining weight, 10lbs so far, and don't want to keep taking it if I could do without it, as I take so much other medication. I hope to get off of much of it; try more natural things, and most are very expensive.
I've heard of people taking it for a period.

I hope I can find information here about how it feels to get off of it, or even if I reduce it to 5mg. I take 10mg now.
What type of side effects, how severe, for how long. How long will I be a menace? Kidding.
I have been pretty sensitive to getting on and off meds in the past, meaning I get side effects. I can tolerate it and 'get through it' if it's not too horrible.

I forgot to take the Lexapro for a day or two in the beginning. when I was traveling. Boy did I have crying spells, which I've never had, and felt bad. I didn't make the connection until later.

You hear of many patients just being thrown on medication, but how do you know when your doctor has really looked at your depression and diagnosed you correctly?

Medicaly and scientificly doctors do prescribe cannabis to their patients to help during from cancer therapy and recovery. Why would they prescribe cannabis if it had more carcinogens than tabacco like "Truth.com" and other websites imply when it caused more cancer? They will not allow tabacco use during this time but are often times prescribing cannabis to help with symptoms.

Biotransformation typically results in intermediate metabolites that may be responsible for toxic after effects, such as inorganic fluoride and bromide ions.

Do only halogenated anesthetic gases (methoxyflurane, halothane, enflurane, desflurane, sevofulrane, isoflurane) undergo biotransformation and result in the production of inorganic fluoride and bromide ions?

I am thinking about donating blood and I have a few questions about it:
How much blood do they generally take?
Will I feel woozy afterwards?
Is A positive a common or uncommon blood type?
Are there any circumstances in which a person would not be allowed to give blood?
If anyone can answer one or all of these questions, it would be greatly appreciated.

I am in graduate business school and have held business jobs in the past. For a few years, however, I've also worked at a hospital. I enjoy patient care; I get along well with my colleagues, too. Medical school interests me. That said, many doctors seem resentful about insurance, litigation, lack of autonomy, and declining pay; it scares me off. Not sure what to decide.

I used to be idealistic about business careers, and I don't want to repeat that mistake; business is a practical choice and medicine is tough. I'm already in my early thirties. But for better or worse, the thought of med school "haunts" me. I love patient care, and the hospital environment works for me, but is medical school worth it anymore in terms of career satisfaction and job and financial security? My gut tells me to go for it; then my head interferes and I don't know what to do (e.g. residency at age 38? could I stand not having money for the next 10 yrs?)

Can anyone help? What am I missing? Besides guts :)
