i have been on Paxil cr before and recently just started taking again (it works the best for me out of any anti depressant) i took my third dose of 12.5 tonight.

i have been twitching in my legs / while falling asleep, twitching

paxil had me so wired i felt like i was going to loose it. i had to get off after a month.

i get the opposite effect from sleepy or tired. i can't sleep. the twitching as far as i know is a temporary thing. it happened to me with certain meds. but only for a couple of months. i usually get a twitch but it's my head/neck that does a quick snap.

annoying more than anything.

Paxil is a drug closely related to Prozac. When Prozac first came out, studies showed that people on it often had what they labeled as "spontaneous leg movements" while they were sleeping. This has never appeared to be a sign of any consequence to a person's health. The description I heard didn't sound like "twitching". Paxil and Prozac work by increasing the availability of serotonin at the nerve endings. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter (transmits the impulse from one nerve to another). Possibly the increase of transmission of impulses down the nerves eventually goes to the muscles which then contract (this explanation is hypothetical). At any rate, these motions seem to be nothing to worry about.

That happens to me. I take Paxil 40g and when I go to sleep my legs do that. My doctor told me it was my anxiety taking over so he gave me Seroquel to help me fall asleep without moving around so much.

I hate taking pills, I fear I'll have no liver left when I'm older.
