The type of research you do will depend on what lab you go into and what you are interested in. If you know what school you are going to do your pre-med in, look at the faculty research interests, find something you would be interested in working on, and email them to see if they will let you work in their lab.
The research you do will really depend on what you want to do, and you should definately pick something you're interested in...or else you won't get anything out of it.

to commence off, there is not any such ingredient as a "pre-med" college. There really are not even too many pre-med majors (i became a premedicine significant my first semester at Penn State. Secondly, i don't understand why you're giving up wish pondering you're purely a freshman in intense college. So so you may be making those assumptions depending off of one 3 hundred and sixty 5 days of highschool shows you're nonetheless a freshman. in case you graduate with a three.5 then you really will in all likelihood get into good colleges. it is going to seem extra valuable to take some honors and AP instructions with a larger gpa than to take all honors instructions and AP instructions with a decrease gpa. yet you should issue about attempting your toughest on account that what really concerns in transferring into an allopathic medical college is your college gpa.

You do not need to do research to go to medical school. You might want to research the difference between "wander" and "wonder", though.

To become a doctor, you need to do well in all of your high school subjects, paying particular attention to science.

In college, you can major in anything that interests you, as long as you take the science that you need to pass the MCAT. I majored in psychology. Again, you need to maintain a fairly high GPA.

If you are interested in a particular science, research certainly will not hurt (you'd be working in a lab under someone who knows what he/she is doing, and has gotten a grant to pay for the work he/she is doing)

Bottom line - don't worry about it.
