Drugs like Advair, Singulair, Viagra..etc..are advertised. What drugs aren't? I thought of Vaccines..but then I thought of the HPV vaccine that has been advertised.
Anyone know? I need it for extra credit in my nursing pharmacology course.

Phenylephrine
Almost all antibiotics
Some of those drugs ARE marketed to doctors, though.
They are not high profit drugs, and patients don't care what they get from me, as long as they don't feel their surgeries!

Seizure meds
Parkinson's meds
Diabetes meds
Antipsychotic meds
Lots of other meds used in a hospital setting, such as the meds mentioned for anesthesia
However, most other families of drugs have been touch by DTC advertising in one way or another. Unbelievable.

I have never seen an anti-neoplastic agent advertised on tv. Some examples are Velcade, Carboplatin, 5-FU, Gemciatbine, Oxaloplatin, Alimta, and Taxotere just to name a few.
Also alot of painkillers aren't advertised: Dilaudid, MS Contin, Fentanyl, Vicodin.

Medical ethics is against advertising drugs.Only information can be given. Most useful drugs are never advertised. Only less useful ones like beauty creams,sunshine lotions and like are advertised.
