I was give a prescription of levothyroxine a few days ago for an under active thyroid. The dosage my Dr prescribed says:
0.3MG (300MCG).

I was just wondering if that is considered a high or low dose?

I'm doing a project on the effects of prescription painkillers and of overdoses of the medicines. Is there a specific way to find out the lethal dose of them? I know for some (like ibuprofen) a specific lethal dose won't be available, but for some (such as acetominphen and codeine), I'm sure there must be a Poison Control database around somewhere.

Three patients in the waiting room that Servies Radiography and Nuclear Medicine.

1. an elderly woman has fallen while leaving her house. She is in great pain, is unable to walk, and has probably broken the neck of her femur.

2. an elderly man has a slurred speech and drooping facial features indicative of a stroke.

3. a 23 year-old male, is known to have multiple sclerosis, but the extent of regeneration in his nervous system is to be evaluated.

*one of these patients is scheduled for a PET scan, one for an MRI, and one for an x-ray. Match the patient with appropriate procedure.

I ask a question 5 days ago regarding information on laser spine surgery. WELL...I am 2 days post operative and the nerve pain is GONE!! All I see are smiles, looks of relief on patients faces and I am one of those. I walked, pain free, out of the clinic on the day of the procedure. I am to have a 2nd procedure on the 3rd as I had 2 levels of injury. Conventional surgeons wanted to do 2 fusions, 1 yr recovery and never the same. Best decision I ever made.

I took an HPT last night and this morning and both were negative. what could be going on?

If my test negative test for a particular disease was 97% accurate, and (considering the fact that my exposure is unknown) the disease is only carried by about 0.6% percent of the population, what does that make my overall percentage chance that I am not infected by this disease?

I understand that former President Ford will be viewed up until his burial on January 3rd in Grand Rapids. The public will be viewing his body 8 days after his death. I remember when my Mom passed away on a Tuesday that the Funeral Director told me that to wait until that weekend (4 days) for an open casket funeral was risking her not being presentable. So, we had the funeral on Friday. Has Mortuary Science come that far in the 12 years since - to keep a body presentable 8 days for viewing?
