It's average. You will need to have your thyroid hormornes re-tested and may need to have the dosage adjusted.

A few months ago, I was very sick, zero energy, freezing cold, depressed, weight gain, thought I was dying. I read every word of this Hypothyroidism Revolution program and followed all the advice. My life turned around the first week. I started to feel human again. Within weeks my energy came back and I felt like living again.

The doc might have increased the dose to maintain normal TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Harmone) levels which is good for him. Numbness is the usual complaint with levothyroxine but it takes quite a time to develop. Numbness may also be due to persistence of hypothyroidism but this is unlikely as you have mentioned his health stats improved.

Thats really low. I have taken thyroid for 20 years. at first they give me a low dose but that might work for you, they will ckeck your tsh levels in couple months and adjust it then. Im taking 1,25mg but I have taken different mgs. I know alot about it because I have read many books on hypothyroid. all my sisters have it to.

This dose is average. You doctor will probably recheck your thyroid in 4-6 weeks, at that time making adjustments based on the results.

This sounds like a very high dose, doctor usually starts you out low, then increase periodically as needed. The average dose is about 150mcg (that's micro grams).

That's a pretty good-sized dose. About a microgram per pound of the patient's body weight is a good ballpark average.

I just started on it also for the same reason. My perscription is for 50 mcg. I am to go back and get blood tested again in February.
Are you noticing any side effects?
