I'm going to the Toy Store and I'm clueless about what to get her. I'm in the US. What's THE toy that all 3 year old girls should have?

My 27 month old boy decided to drink a capri sun juice drink and spit it out on my kitchen floor. I have one of those simple swiffer wet mops, where all you do is put the wet cloth on it and sweep. Well, I made him wipe the mess up. But my main question is, will he take it as punishment or think, "Hey this is fun, let's do it again!"? Or, was that just mean of me to make him do it, because I don't think so. I told him that if he wants to make big boy messes, that he can clean them up like a big boy. I already teach him to help pick up his toys.

I don't know what her problem is but she's getting worse and worse. She likes to make her sister cry by bighting her fingers, sticking her hand down her throat, twisting her arm, bending her fingers backwards, you name it. She even tries to smother her with pillows. She laughs while she does this stuff. Then we bought some little gold fish for her yesterday and she killed two of them by stabbing them with her toothbrush (I was busy with baby). What is this problem? What is causing it? She's getting worse, and it first started when her little sister was born.

MY son is 2 1/2 and is just starting to understand simple instructions like "put your shoes away" and put your clothes in the hamper", should I start giving him a list of daily chores? Should I pay him an allowance for doing the chores?

It's a lie, but it can also be a lot of fun. Also, does it take away from the other aspects of Christmas (Christ's birth, family time, etc). Let me know what you think!

I feel guilty because I am so bored with playing with my 17 month old son. He has a lot of toys but we play with them everyday and we are inside the house alot and its really boring. We go out sometimes too for a walk or we go to the store but I am still really bored with playing with him. I feel guilty but there are other things that I would rather be doing than sitting on the floor and playing. Does anyone else feel this way and what can I do so that we can have more fun?

I am a stay at home mom.. i have never left my kids.... she has only spend three nigh away from me.. two of those i was in the hospital having my second child... I may leave her with a baby sitter once every couple of months.. but she seems fine when i do... does any one else have had a similar expirience??

He used to always sleep through the night and go to sleep well after stories, it's as if he's terrified to be in his room. What can I do to help him sooth himself back to slep at this age? Should I just let him come in and fall asleep with us, then take him back to his room and hope this "phase" ends?

My daughter is two and four months. She has a great understanding of going to the potty but she only goes in the potty when I let her run around in the buff. When she goes, she gets some kind of treat (a sugar free candy or a sticker). How do I get her to let me know when she has to go so that we can complete the potty training process and start her wearing clothes again?!

Hi, I am a single mom with a 2 1/2yr old boy who is potty trained, but refuses to use his potty outdoors - since we live in the country & are out alot this has become a problem. If he needs to go he just lies on his front & pees his pants.
I know this may sound weird but as a mom how can i teach him to pee on a tree for example?
Any advice would be welcome
Lol. Laura xxx.

Whenever I think about anything happening to my son I start to panic. My chest gets tight, my eyes well up with tears or I may go into a full blown cry and I feel out of control. I dont think its normal to constantly think "what if" about your own child. My husbands brother passed away 2 yrs ago at 16 to cancer and I dont know if now I fear that I could lose my son too at any point or what but its consuming me. I think about car accidents, medical illnesses, choking, freak accidents, I dont know why I cant just live normal

My son (27-mo) still naps but all of a sudden is just not tired at night. He used to go to bed very easily, but now he's not at all tired until 10:00. It seems early to me for him to start dropping his afternoon nap, but maybe not?
