depends on the sport you are looking at. If they are interested in soccer, AYSO is a great organization. It is volunteer so keeps the costs down. It cost us $100 registration fee for the season plus the equipment (cleats, shin guard, ball). The store's usually have packages for those for about $50 or so.

For a four and six year old your best bet would be some kind of recreational team sport like T-ball(baseball), or soccer. Usually the league charges a small fee to cover uniforms and refereeing. I would say not more than $50 per kid. And it's a fee you pay once per season. Of course other things like dance, karate, gymnastics, etc. you would probably pay monthly.
If your kid gets good enough to try out and make a travel team in his sport then you are talking the big $$$. My son has played on a travel soccer team for 8 years now and it costs us $300 per month.

It depends greatly on the sport. For example a youth soccer league might be $30 a season, whereas a gymnastics school might be $30 a month. Or hockey, which costs a couple hundred just for the equipment! Ask again with what sports you are looking at.

Depends on what you want to do, where you live and who you want to go through. I live in a relatively small town and through our city recreation center soccer, baseball, etc cost only about $30-45 for the season. Private things like dance class, or gymnastics or karate are more expensive. I've been quoted for karate at $80 where I live but on up in the city about 45 mins away it's over $100 per month. Check out all your options and see if they have a "trial" period. You know how kids can change their mind about what they like to do!!

It really depends n where you live and what sport you want to put them in. You can go to the Recreation programs through where ever you live. I have a 7 year old who plays soccer it is 80 dollars for Fall and Spring. (one price and it gives me to terms) He is also in baseball which is 40 dollars for the summer and gymnastic which is 70 dollars. You will just have to check for yourself and what stuff they might want to play.
May I suggest Soccer. It is very good for coordination and helps them develop a lot of skills at a young age. My son has played since 4 and loves it!

Well I have a boy and girl that both play baseball and it costs $50.00 a piece, my son also plays football and it costs fifty as well, however, they should offer sponsorship if you can't afford it. One year we were sponsored with both, the next year we paid both and we a sponsor. It's pretty cool. I don't know about the monthly thing. My daughter is getting ready to do dance and it's gonna cost $25.00 a month.....call the pto or ask other parents and surely someone can lead ya to someone who could tell ya. Good luck to you.

I totally depends on the sport! We've done tennis, tae kwan do (sp - sorry), swimming, water polo, ballet, and soccer. For us, soccer is the least expensive. Different studios have different prices, but about $40 a month for most studio sports is common around here (n. ca).

The question is very subjective, if you put your kids in Hockey it will cost you a bundle in equip met. Soccer is relatively cheap. Every sport has different costs.

it all depends on the sport and the league. Some leagues are free leagues through a rec league or might have minimal costs, others require a team fee and uniform costs, etc etc
