I am not in the U.S and I don't think there is a toy that all 3 year old girls should have. But I always think that fun educational toys are wonderful the child has a lot of fun with them and even though it don't seem like they are learning as well. Also read the box/pkt it should give you an age limit for the toy. IE: this toy is suitable for a child 1-3 or something like that. also next time your at your brothers/sisters house cheek the little girls room see what she seems to have. look in her toy box as well this will give you some indication of what type of toys she likes and what she already has. Her favourite toys will be at the top of the toy box. Good luck and have fun in the toy shop. Also its a good idea to talk to the lady/man at the shop if you really can't decide

I see a couple of people said to get her a Barbie doll. It's true that little girls love Barbies but lots of the time these dolls have small pieces included with them. Please make sure that if you do choose one of these dolls that the label indicates that the toy is intended for her age group. I know that you are probably going to say "duh", but I am sure that you have never played with a Barbie doll so I thought it was worth mentioning.
My suggestion for a three year old would be anything Dora the Explorer. My daughter LOVED her at that age ( she is 5 now and has "outgrown" her. lol ) I don't think you could go wrong with Dora !! Good Luck.

Forget the Barbi and Bratz dolls they sent the wrong message to a little girl. Buy her a Little Tykes shopping cart. She can push it around and put her toys and dolls in it. Kids love to do those things at her age.

I have a three year old daughter who absolutely LOVES building blocks and Barbie. If you want to be REALLY popular and I mean REALLY :) Get her 'n Disney's princess range dress with the matching DVD (Say if you get Cinderella - get the dress to match) Happy shopping :)

Most little girls that age really like stuff from Disney's Princess collection. My neices loved the Princess dolls that were baby looking at that age.

pop-up books, especially if you'll read them to her and she gets to pull the tabs and open the little thingies and so on. There's a reason why these have been popular for so many years. Kids get lost in them.
