Pregnancy - September 2007

I am 31 and have been seeing my boyfriend for a little over a year. We never considered ourselves to be in a long term relationship, partly because I want kids someday and he does not. I am finishing law school in a few months and working full time, which is why I haven't had time to actively search for Mr. Right. I found out this week that I am pregnant. He wants me to get an abortion, and while I was sensitive to his feelings about the matter, I told him abortion would not be a choice that I could make, for spiritual reasons (not so much religious reasons; I don't really believe in God). This is ironic, because he is the one who is Catholic. He is used to getting everything he wants from women, probably starting with his mother, but that crap has never worked in my zone, so my mind is made up. He is a good guy, though, and is sensitive and emotional in all of the right ways. He is just selfish. At what point do new fathers come around to the idea of an unplanned baby?

What other options are there to the epidural. I know that there is NO WAY that I would be able to sit still with out some one litereally holding me down. I joke with my baby's dad that I will end up paralyzed (him and I are no longer together) if I try to get an epidrual.

3 weeks ago i went to Planned Parenthood because I thought I was pregnant. They asked if I wanted to take a STD test along with a pregnancy test. I said yes. Both tests came back negative and I was relieved. Now for about 4 days I been feeling sick to my stomach and been peeing a lot. I havent gotten my period yet either. Sometimes when I pee, a little blood comes out when I wipe myself. What's wrong with me?!

So, im 11 days over due, and in about a week my doctor said If nothing has worked shes going to put me on the drip, I haven't been trying much for labour except a ton of walking, pineapple, and sex. But I was curious as to the nipplestimulation using a breast pump, how would I go about this? Do you just pump until you feel a contraction? or is there a certain amount of time you should stop.
If so, how long on each breast? and will my milk supply still be fine when the baby comes? I won't get engorged?

I ovulated last week...I have been having period cramps this week, but VERY lightly and shooting pains in my breast/nipples too...the past 2 days I've been getting a white discharge in my underwear..enough that I need a panty shield. I'm not due for my next period til 9 days from now (according to mymonthlycycle.com), since I am have a 30 something day cycle. What do you think its white stuff is I keep getting it's its kinda like creamy looking I guess u can say.

is it true that if you keep thinking your pregnant you start developing symptoms such as sore breasts going to the bathroom more often, getting headaches?...because i keep worring that im pregnant but i got my period and i took a home pregnancy test and it came out negative..so i was wondering that maybe im feeling all these symptoms because i keep thinking im pregnant. could this be true? has anyone ever experienced it? please help me. thank you.

I am currently 11 weeks pregnant with my fisrt child. I had morning sickness that seems to have calmed down as of this past Tuesday. My clothes have been snug for a couple of weeks due to water weight gain but literally overnight, none of my clothes fit. I am talking about a 3 inch gap between buttons. I was not a small person to start with. The thing is that I have not gained any weight ( I have actually lost about 6 pounds). Is this normal?

In the past 2 weeks, I have not had much of an appetite at all, only towards a very few specific foods. When I do eat, I get sick a lot. Also, my breasts have been very tender these past fews days and slightly swollen. My lower back is in a lot of pain, but that could be my scoliosis acting up. i have also noticed I'm having more mood swings than normal. Do you think I'm pregnant? I know most of you will say take a test, and I know I should, but I just want to know if you guys really think I am or not. Thank you very much for any advice you have.

i heard that animals can sense labor coming, and that they will act different......so the fact that my kind keeps hissing at me and trying to bite me would be a good sign?? Usually she is all lovey and right up in my lap but today you would think i was a stranger!!! i had to quarantine her to the bedroom so she will calm down!! Anyone else have pets that acted out towards the end of their pregnancy?? becuase i have 12 days left

I am trying to decide what I want to do about my doctor situation. My first choice is to birth in a birthing center. However, with United Health Care, it is considered out of network, as with almost any insurance. We could still use it but we would be paying a few thousand out of pocket. I hate hospitals and think doctors make a business out of childbirth with forceps, episiotimies (sp?), c-sections, etc. But because my husband wants to save money and is more comfortable with me birthing in a hospital, I have agreed to do so as long as I can have a doula. With all that said, there is a hospital right down the road, maybe 1 mile away. I just moved to this area and do not know any doctors, so I'd randomly be picking a OBGYN that uses that hospital. My good friend is pregnant and has recommended a OBGYN, but the hospital she services is 15-20 miles away. What should I do? Opt for the closer hospital with a doctor I dont know, or go with the recommended OBGYN who is further away?

Hi, i am 15 years old and 38 weeks pregnant with my first baby.

I no longer live with my parents - they kicked me out when they found out that I was pregnant. I now live in a youth hostel, and I do not have many people I can talk to about things.

For those of you that have been through it, could you maybe take some time to answer my questions?

I had an ultrasound yesterday and tech guessed we're having a girl based on what he saw. I didn't ask him to guess he just said, "Well, do you want to know what I think you're going to have?" Anyone else have gender predicted this early and had it been true?

i just found out 4 sure i was pregnant and i just had a sharp pain on my side. my sister says its just ur body trying to adjust, so any one have this before? another question... my doctor ( havnt seen her yet) i was talking to her on the phone said im already 5 weeks. and i thought they count from ur ovulation days where u would have concieved but i guess they count from the first day of ur last period... why? so even if i am 5 weeks according to the docter my baby is what 5 weeks says like what process its going through.. i need help this is my first child. so ne one would help me i would appriciate it thanks for all your help!! :)

I haven't went to the doctor to see for sure but I think I'm pregnant. Ive had all the symptoms and when i went to the bathroom this morning there was a light brown discharge in my underwear. It doesn't have a smell to it. Could this be a part of it?

My due date for my 2nd child is 5 days from now and I have not been checked by the Dr. yet to see how far along I am..... Is this unusual? I was getting checked every week from 36 weeks on for my 1st. How long does it take to drop completely and how long after you drop does labor start? At the Drs. on Aug. 27th I was told that the baby was 3/4 the way down...... And at my last appointment on Sept 5th I was told the baby's heart beat was fairly high and if there was a decrease in movement to go to the hospital.......... it really didnt help me out on what I wanted to know.
