i heard that animals can sense labor coming, and that they will act different......so the fact that my kind keeps hissing at me and trying to bite me would be a good sign?? Usually she is all lovey and right up in my lap but today you would think i was a stranger!!! i had to quarantine her to the bedroom so she will calm down!! Anyone else have pets that acted out towards the end of their pregnancy?? becuase i have 12 days left

It's not a sixth sense per say. It is smell. Cats like most predators have a supercharged acute sense of smell. She can smell the changes in your body and thinks something is different like you look the same and sound the same but you can't be the same person because you smell different to her.

I think cats really do pick up on your hormones. The later I got into pregnancy I started to feel more anxiety (I have GAD) and a lot of this was due to increase in hormones. My cat picked right up on this and was a spaz. I think when you're around 32-33 wks your body goes through another big transition. Kitty cat picked up on this--- He would walk around meowing, meow in the middle of the night, he was unsatisified with everything, he would get up on things he wasn't supposed to be on, he wouldn't listen, he'd chew my shoes and a bunch of other lovely things like this. We had to start putting this FeliEase (name???) in his water to get him to chill out. I'm sure when labor comes around he's going to be wigging out again.

I have a dog, but I don't remember her paying any extra attention to me when I was in labour. When I became pregnant, however, she wouldn't leave me alone.
