It sounds to me like you were either a little anxious or had high expectations about becoming pregnant, so you might have interpreted innocent complaints, such as sore breasts, or headaches, as symptoms of pregnancy, when in fact they might be attributed to something entirely different, like prementrual syndrome ( you may experience it more severely when you are under stress...)It´s simple suggestion, you just start paying more attention to your body and discover some things you might not have noticed before. However, there is a psychiatric condition, called pseudocyesis (spurious pregnancy), in which a woman experiences all the symptoms of pregnancy, such as breast swelling, milk secretion, absence of menstruation, and even a growing belly. They may even attribute the intestinal movements to the "baby"... but there is a very important thing about this condition, that the woman insist on being pregnant despite evidence to the contrary (ultrasound, pregnancy tests, etc).
So don´t worry, if your test was negative , you are not pregnant, just a litlle stressed. And the rest of you is probably fine , too.

I experienced this about 6 years ago.... it's called phantom pregnancy. I missed my period for 3 months, had sore breasts, and generally "felt" pregnant even after I had a negative preg test. I've read that even animals can experience it.
I also have had 2 pregnancy tests come back negative (with 2 out of 3 of my kids) b/c I took them as soon as I started having symptoms, which was around 2 weeks pregnant.
I would take another test in a week or 2 unless your dr. ruled it out.

Yes, it's true, that can happen to people. Some people can believe they're pregnant or want to be pregnant so bad that they think they have these symptoms because they focus on every little thing. Wait 1 wk, then take another test, if it's negative, then try to focus on something else, or you'll just drive yourself crazy.

I've actually experienced this before. I started getting bloated and sick feeling and I was worried I was pregnant and my period was late, but turns out the symptoms were anxiety and PMS-related and my period came, just a few days late.
You can always take a pregnancy test - they don't lie!

Yeah, you can worry yourself into it. If you have your period, and a negative test, I wouldn't worry. I've found the tests to be quite reliable. Just take another test in a week or so.

Everybody should say yes. I can't tell you how many times I have done that. I freaked out and drove myself crazy for three weeks thinking i knew i was pregnant. That was 6 months ago, and I'm happy I was wrong.

Yes it's possible and if you keep on with that frame of mind you may eventually risk a 'phantom pregnancy'.
