I am going to take Plan B but am regularly taking birth control pills. Should I continue to take my birth control pills on top of the emergency contraception? Or should I start a new pack after I've completed the emergency contraception?

If you are already taking regular birth control and are taking it correctly then you don't need to take Plan B.

If you missed a day or more of your regular birth control, then just continue taking your regular birth control, along with Plan B. For example, if you missed Sunday and Mondays pill, then take Tuesdays on Tuesday and continue taking them until you are done with the pack. Do NOT start a new pack once you have taken both tablets of Plan B.

If you have any questions don't be afraid to call your doctor or your pharmacy!

Good luck!

There should be an 800 number on the back or somewhere on the birth control pills. There will also be a number on "PLAN B/" Call the 800 number and they can tell you which, I believe will be to start a new pack and that you will have a rough cycle this time. Do not just take my word for it. If all else fails, call the doctor or center that gave you the planB.
