A week ago, when asked to choose where to give birth, I opted for my local birth center. However, I have since then discovered that women get sent home on the same day, as there are no facilities to accomodate them any longer. As a first time mum, this worries me. Has anyone been in the same situation?

i am 18 i graduate on may 25th i think iam 13 weeks i have m-care on my dads insurence and its going to stop when i graduate i want to get the maternity card but i don't think i can afford the monthly payments but it save you so much money but i also dont think i qaulify for it to the moms who kind of have this problem what the best advice and what did you do thanks i really appericate this have have a wonderful weekend

im 36 weeks and seen loads of people around the same as me saying they are 1-2 cm dialated. How did u find that out? I see my midwife every 2 weeks and she never does an internal check (so far) so how can i know if im dialated or not!!! I wanna know!

I had sex with him and I told him not to get that stuff in me this was 31/2 weeks ago ever since it happened my stomach has been hurting evryday even right now It feel like I m gonna throw up everytime I eat, I have a throw up taste everday now, my chest it stating to hurt today I'm suppose to come on my cycle on the 31 but I dont think its gonna come I took a test from the dollar store it was negative my stomach also feels empty alot and the bumps around nipples are getting big and pusie and my stomach gets bloating feeling like a ballon I cant talk to anybody my parents dont beleive in abortins I think I really messed up

My Best friend is 7 months along now and is feeling so emotional right now. i have never been pregnate and dont know what she is going through, but she feels latley like nobody cares that she is pregnat and nobody is excited. Of course we all care and are super excited for her. But I want to know if there is something special i can do for her to make her feel better or simply to just help her out. Not sure what she needs at this point? Help

For about 2 1/2 weeks now... everything i eat makes my stomach hurt real bad...anything...i've tried all kinds of food hoping i would feel ok afterwords but no, nothing feels good...I've lost 5 lbs. now since i cant eat anything...i feel really week and im afraid my baby might not be getting enough nourishment...I also have not taken any prenatal vitamins since my stomach is very sensitive and the ones ive tried have made me sick...

Here is my problem though...I dont have insurance yet and i probably wont for another 2 weeks...and i dont have money to pay cash to see a doctor...i also dont know if i should go to the hospital or not (my insurance would cover those expenses later).

Can anyone relate to this or just give me advice?
I really dont know what to do.

Is it ok to have sex after you have lost your mucous plug? I know it was there to keep infection and bacteria out. So can we still do this? I'm 38 weeks, had a membrane stripping yesterday to help progress labor and avoid preeclampsia and induction. We were going to be using sex as a tool (how romantic is that?!) to help labor start but since that fell out his morning I'm not so sure.

I took a test and there's a faint pink line that's so hard to see I can only see it in shadow and not direct light. If it gets darker over time can I assume its positive? My last period was March 8th and no period yet...FYI, hope not TMI...

Okay I know im annoying you all with silly questions, but I dont like to ask my midwife, shes a cow.

Anyway, i was 9 stone before i got pregnant and im 10 stone now, is that normal? It dosent seem like a lot considering that im due at end of may (35 weeks) my mum said it just means im 'all baby' and i do just have a neat little bump, people dont believe me when i tell them how far along i am, but i just wanted to know
im prob worrying for nothing, but i cant help it, i had a miscarriage before and its hard not to panick with every little thing that happens and this has been a tough pregnancy with some problems
Anyway any advice would be appreciated

I've heard people say some people have periods or something like a period during pregnancy. My last period was April 3rd so I haven't missed but knew something was up and had a home pregnancy test come back positive. I didn't think they could detect the hormone this early, so I was wondering if any women have ever heard of or had this happen before. Please don't tell me to go to the emergency room, I have an appointment Monday, and am not feeling any sort of pain or bleeding right now, just wondering if it's possible to not miss a period.

been reading through these pregnancy questions. i cant believe how dumb some of these women are. one person in particular cant remember her may period when its not even may yet. another claims to have not had a period for 9 months and wonders if she pregnant. are people actually this stupid clueless and uninformed or is it just me. sorry for ranting but this bugs me. your on the internet type in pregnancy and periods and get educated. i understand the ones asking about effacement and contractions and what labor is like but these i had sex on saturday am i pregnant are driving me nuts. learn how you can get pregnant or dont have sex its that simple

I am fairly sure that I am pregnant, but I am waiting to take an hpt. My cervix has been soft, high, and closed for the past week. My lmp started on the eighth and lasted through the twelfth. I ovulated on the 18th, a week early. If my calculations are correct, the egg should be implanting soon.

My concern is this. My cervix is still soft, but it seems to have come down lower than it was yesterday (the fluid is also thin and clear, with a water-like texture). Yesterday it was very high, and I almost couldn't reach it. I also woke up with a nagging pain in my lower left abdomen, very close to the pelvis. It's not like period cramps, but almost like gas pain, though it doesn't feel as if it is in my intestines.

Is this common? Could this just be implantation, or gas? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated ^_^

I think I might have missed a period. I honestly don't pay too much attention to it. My last one (I think) was April 8th. I don't remember having one at the beginning of May. My new box of tampons that I bought after my last period is still unopened, there were some left from the previous box. I have been getting heartburn in the evenings, sudden urges to pee, nausea, and diarrhea in the mornings. I took a test yesterday and it came out neg. (I got up all night going to the bathroom, so it wasn't after my first morning pee). When should I take another test? Are these signs of being pregnant or just a bug? My next period should be around May 5th. I know I can just go to a doctor but I don't want to go for no reason.

I havent had my period in like 9 months, my belly has gotten huge, but that could just be bc I have been eating everything in sight. Also, I always feel these weird wiggly movements in my tummy, but maybe its just really bad gas? Today I have been having this weird squeezing feeling in my stomach, and I peed all over myself. At my last appointment I REALLY wanted to know if I was dialated, but she didn't check (and I didn't ask). Is there anyway to tell on your own if you are dialated at all? I don't mean like feeling for myself, or determining how many centimeters, but are there any signs that you are dialating like if your mucous plug comes out or something like that?

Is a Midwife an MD or just a step above a nurse? I'm a little confussed. I went to the doctor for my first apt and I didn't even see the OB, I was seen by a midwife. Don't get me wrong she was extremely helpful and very nice, probably one of the best doc's visits I've ever had, but I just don't know the difference and if I should have even been seen by the OB or not.

I only had One time of unprotected sex ?My last period started about the 11th of april of real bleeding anway the 10th i had some brown spotting and the 16th -17th was when my period ended. I had unprotected sex the 25 of april prior to that day i had white stretchy disharge but 2 days after sex it has stopped. Could i have been fertile? My cycle can vary but if i had to take a guess i would say 30 day cycle on average give or take? I could not get plan b in time.Is their anyway to tell?What are the odds?

Why is it that whenever someone asks a question regarding having a c-section does someone come on and start spouting off about 'doing it the proper way'??
I'm sorry but it really irritates me as I cannot give birth naturally yet some people make me feel like less of a woman because I've had 2.
If it wasn't for the fact that c-sections were available, my child and I would be dead.
Perhaps it is because I am 7 weeks pregnant and irritable and I appologise if I seem to be ranting, but I wish people would not jump to conclusions about it.

I just got back from the doctors office. I am 60% and dilated to a 2. This is baby #4. Doctor says I can go anytime!!! :) My question is.. how long until labor for any ladies in my situation? Just for fun.. I am guessing within the week since I am going to have sex like crazy!! Lucky hubby! So.. what do you ladies think? Thanks
