Oh.. sorry!! I am 36 weeks BUT I have gestational diabetes. Doctor said I could have her and she wouldnt stop it since I have a history of preeclampsia so she wants to avoid that!!

Since this is your fourth baby and you are elready to a 2, I am going to say within the week. Stick to your plan and soon you will have a smiling husband and a bouncing baby!!! Best of wishes for you and your family!

I was dilated to 2 for 1 week with my first baby, and then it went up to 3cm for 2 weeks. I got to 5cm and my doctor induced at 38 1/2 weeks; I don't know how much longer I would have walked around like that though! Good thing was that I got my epidural first thing (no having to wait to dilate!)
Second baby, dilated to 2 at 34 weeks and didn't deliver until 39 1/2 weeks after being induced.
So I guess it depends!

Alot of factors can determine what that info means. Me, for instance, my doctors would tell me I was completely closed and wasn't going to deliver for a while, then I'd deliver a few days later.
Since this is #4, I would say judge it by your previous 3 experiences (how long after dilation started did you actually deliver?), and how quickly this progress came about. Has it been weeks getting to this point, or was it just this past week?
Also, how far along are you? That doesn't necessarily mean anything, but can give you a good clue.

Being dilated to a 2 is the norm when you've had several pregnancies. You're still 60% effaced so more than likely you are looking at AT LEAST another week. I think 2. Watch the moon. Women go into labor like crazy on the full moon.

It is true that you can go at anytime, however keep in mind that you can also walk around dilated to 2 (even dialted to 4) for weeks. You can also be effaced alot and dilated as you are and still go past yor due date. I have seen it happen.

With me, and my personal experience, I was dilated to 1 40% effaced at 36 weeks. At 37 weeks, I was effaced to 70% and dilated to 2 1/2. Within a week I delievered.

Good luck...

Girl, keep those bags packed and ready to go!!! Make sure your cars got enough gas and the cameras got batteries!!!
With your 4th, things will go alot quicker - they did for me.
