Honestly, if you had a blighted ovum, no one really knows what causes those. Chances are it was just bad luck. Miscarriages happen in as many as 20% of pregnancies, and some women just draw a bad hand.
The first few weeks of pregnancy are very complex and there is a lot cell division happening. If things don't divide properly and a piece of genetic information goes missing, then the embryo will stop growing.
Unfortunately, it's not a fair thing, and likely has nothing to do with your food intake or vitamins. There are women who are very unhealthy who pregnant easily, and stay that way, and women in the peak of health who suffer miscarriages.
It's not that you didn't do your job.
I assume you are talking to your doctor and getting her or his advice as well. If you have a third miscarriage, you may wish to push for some testing.

First off I am sorry for your losses.
There are so many reason that this could happen, My sister in-law has had 3 miscarriages all due to the baby not forming their problem was caused by a genetic disorder that one of them was passing on to the baby. The reason they know this in particular is because tests were ran on tissue after the miscarriage and they could tell then that the baby didn't have what it needed to form.
She is now 25 weeks pregnant!!!! The doctor said that they had a great chance of being able to still have a baby on their own without any assitance from fertility.
It is a hard road to travel, and you must give yourself time to grieve and make sure that you and your partner are completely ready to try again. You should ask your doctor more, maybe they can give you more answers.
The best of luck to the both of you!!!!!!!

So sorry for your losses, I've had a miscarriage myself plus a couple of chemical pregnancies (in which the egg was fertilized but didn't properly attach).
I had a blighted ovum (my miscarriage)... that is where the sac is empty, the baby never formed. Sounds to me like that is what you had experienced. There is really no telling what causes that... it's something chromosomal that happens, sadly.
I understand your fear of getting pregnant again. Try not to lose all hope. I was terrified at the thought of being pregnant again... and I now have two beautiful children, ages 7 and 5.
I wish you all the best, I hope that you find yourself holding that sweet baby soon.

One possible cause is a condition called Celiac disease.

Another may be a vitamin or mineral deficiency in the mother, such as Folic Acid.
Sorry to hear about your difficulty, it's good that you're seeking an answer. Hope this helps.

Most commonly you didn't have enough folic acid or progesteronee in your system for attachment to occur.
Make sure you are drinking LOTS of OJ and you might want to get a progesteron level test to see if you need a supplement.
