Sounds to me like you either have been eating too much sodium, have a multiple pregnancy, or are developing early symptoms of preeclampsia. Have your doctor watch your blood pressure, cut back on the sodium (salt) intake, rest as much as possible, and drink plenty of water. Have you had a sonogram yet? Your doctor may order one to rule out possibility of multiples. Also, what is the family history of complications during pregnancy? First pregnancies and teens are more likely to develop preeclampsia, so this could be a factor.

It seems like staying off of your feet seems to help the swelling. However if you are swelling this early on, you might consult the doctor about blood pressure problems.

honestly i didn't swell really bad until the last month with my daughter because i was dehydrated. But with my twins i started swelling in the first trimester....it always was better in the morning and worse at night....drink more fluids and make sure to check with your ob to make sure you don't have any signs of pre eclampsia
