I am five months pregnant and my indoor cat scratched me up good today. She broke skin in two places. I have a call in to my doctor, but I am anxious and want to know if there is any major cause for concern. I know that I am not allowed to clean her litter, but are there any issues with being scratched by a cat? I know about bartonella, but couldn't find any info about bartonella and pregnant women.

I have missed my period for 2 months...i never missed my period before....it always comes every month since i first started having them....i took 2 test and the said negative that was when i was 2 and 3 weeks.....i would be 11 weeks...i sleep all day and eat when im not sleeping.My breast are not hurting but they seem very heavy and a little itchy...and when i woke up this morning i had a tight pain in my pelvic bone...i go to the obgyn on friday but i need some answers....i dont want to get alll excited and its a no.

Is it commong for babies to look cross-eyed, because i sometimes see that my baby is looking cross eyed and i think that i should consult a doctor.. IS this something i should worry about?

i am 39 wks pregnant. the baby used to be very active up until 2 or 3 wks back. but now it does not move so much. however it does move during the night time and after the meals sometime. but still not so vigorously as it did before.
i asked my gyno about it and she said its enough if it moves 4 times after each meal and the baby seems to be doing that, although not every time.
everything else seems to be going normally.
should i be worried ?
please share your experiences. thank you.

im going to be 5 n half months pregnant, and i havnt smoked since i found out i was, but these earges to smoke are soo strong i think i might smoke a cig every now and then even if its one a day.. will that hurt? maybe not even once a day.. but last night i was about to take a puff and i had it up to my lip but i didnt! because my son is healthy and everything and i think of him... but how bad is it? like is what there saying out there over exaggerating? my sister smoked through out her pregnancy and her baby is healthy actually everyone i know that smoked their baby is fine.. did u ever know any one whos baby came out with something wrong due to smoking? i mean i breathe in second hand smoke but not ALL the time ... i need some advice thanks

i had a pregnancy scare recently after having sex with my boyfriend a few times he put it in me without using a condom but he didnt *** inside of me and the times we had full on sex we used protection and i have been on the birth control pill. i was 2 weeks late though for my period and i had all the symptoms of pregnancy then a couple days ago i woke up with really bad cramps and it was my period it has been quite heavy so i had a sigh of relief and didnt ring the doctors for my results today as i dont think theres any possible way i could be pregnant now, but my best friend told me i should have rung as theres still a chance of being pregnant is she right?

i just had a baby on 12/27/07,the hospital told me that when they tested him 4 his shaking,it came out negative but i brought him home on 12/29/07 but he shake whenever.i just had a fever after my water broke until i gave birth 2 my son.whats thats mean,it just normal 4 newborn babies or it just someting wrong with him?

I've been having a lot of trouble lately with my 17 y/o son; its disgusting, I know, but he just wont take showers. Ever. To get him to take one is awful; he'll get grumpy and wont speak to us, acts surly, etc. Its just not worth the trouble- so he takes one, if this, once a month. He also will not shave his beard or get a haircut. Is this some kind of trend, rebellion, what? I don't think its his friends, because he has normal friends- all of them take showers and whatnot. Its nasty that he doesn't seem to have proper hygiene, but he does know how to shave, take showers, etc obviously. What can I do?

... is suitable for a very intelligent and sensitive eight-year-old boy?
I have not read the book but have seen the film and given the themes I wish to bolster the boy's confidence through his reading (which no-one could object to given so much emphasis these days on the "literacy hour" in schools).
Failing that could anyone suggest any other books that would be suitable for him given that it seems that he will not be allowed to express *himself* by joining a drama group (in which he would excel).

I am currently on 50mg of Clomid and 500mg of Metformin. I was concerned that this may not work for my husband and I. We have been trying to conceive for over a year now, and on the medication for a short while, and still nothing. I would like to know if these medications do not work, what are other things that women like myself have went through. Im not talking IVF or IUI, just some ovulation inducing medications. I know there are a lot of reasons why women choose to circumcise their boys. But mainly for religious and health reasons. I am 28 weeks pregnant with a boy and I've talked to a lot of mothers and read a bunch of articles to get an idea whether to circumcise or not. I'm only debating it because of the health benefits, although I'm not sure if there are any. My husband is uncircumcised and he said he got teased a lot when he was a kid but I'm not sure if it's because he was uncircumcised (he's not very well endowed and that could be why). As of right now I'm pretty set on leaving my son intact. I was surprised to hear that a lot of women had their boys circumcised simply because they think it looks better, although a few did state religious reasons and cleanliness reasons. I can't imagine why women would put their boys through so much pain just because they don't like the way an intact penis looks. Is there any justification for aesthetic circumcision?

Okay, let's say a friend of yours was engaged to a man she loved, they were dating for two years, and had planned the wedding.

Then he dumps her. She immediately starts dating again, and within a few months she is engaged again.

Some questions: Would she be 'filling a void'? Would this new relationship be a healthy one? Is it fair to her new beau that she didn't really take the time to morn, grieve, and REFLECT on her feelings of loss? And maybe gain acceptance about the life she would have had with potential husband # 1?

This was part of an answer to a question i asked about "filling a void" by adopting a child.

How on gods earth can you compare the above with adoption and haveing kids???

Why is it that people assume ALL adoptive parents dont come to terms with the fact they cant have kids naturally, before adopting???
I am speaking to my mother now on the phone while writing this, and she is fuming at the selfishness of it all!
