The only babies that I know of that shake are cocaine babies and they shake and cry for no apparent reason to us. They know what is wrong....we don't.
If your baby was tested for his shaking .....what test was that ???
Generally, babies shake or shiver when cold and or sick. If you had a fever when the baby was born he likely had what you did. Watch him closely.....that is dangerous since he is brand new. I would ask your Pedriatian to re-check him as you are worried and he is still shaking.....Not natural for newborns...unless of course he is a cocaine/drug baby.

Congratulations on the birth of your son! My son was "shaky" when he was born, which was due to low blood sugar. Once he got it up to a normal level (overnight), no shaking. Is that what they tested for? Also, newborns' nervous systems are, not surprisingly, immature, so it could be related to that. Just make sure he's warm enough and doesn't have a fever, and by all means ask your pediatrician. Good luck!

I reared a son from birth, and it doesn't sound like something minor. Make sure that he isn't cold (Hot only makes us sweat!), and then get a second MEDICAL OPINION! Don't take medical opinions from non-medical people!!! The best medical opinion I can give you is just that: Get a second opinion! I will say many prayers for your son in the next few weeks. You need a "Neo-natologist", or a physician for newborns. They focus on the first 60 days of a child's life.

If they tested him for his shaking then they must suspect something is wrong! I don't know what your fever means to him or if it's linked. Get him to his doctor ASAP!

Postal Dude is absolutely right.
His little nervous system is still making connections, it's completely normal.

Please, please, please, call your baby's doctor and tell him or her your concerns. Even if it turns out to be absolutely nothing to worry about, don't take any chances. Plus, it will ease your mind. Don't take no for an answer. You owe it to yourself and your son to have ALL your fears put to rest. Good luck!

newborns shake. Their muscular system is simply not developed yet, so they will shake on occassion. Have your doc, check him out to be sure, but most likely it is perfectly normal.
