Your cat can live there, you just can't change her litter box if you are trying to conceive or pregnant. By changing her littler box, your suspectible to a parasite called toxoplasmosis that could be in her feces. It is rare to get, but could be fatal to the baby if contracted.

You absolutely do not have to get rid of your cat!!! We have five of them, and the only thing is that my husband has to change the litterbox. There is a very very very small risk you could get toxoplasmosis if you ingest feces from an infected cat. Keep your hands out of the box and you should be fine.

Dont worry. Its the litter you have to worry about, Dont clean out any litter, if you do then use gloves. The rest is basic hygine like wash your hands fter you have touched her etc etc. Thousands if not millons of women have a cat and is pregnant. It is just the litter

You do NOT have to get rid of your cat!
I have three healthy children ages 6, 4, and 5 months!
Because toxoplasmosis can cause birth defects in children, pregnant women sometimes assume that they must get rid of their cat. This is entirely unnecessary, as a few simple measures will thoroughly safeguard against catching the disease, especially from your cat. Toxoplasmosis is a disease caused by a parasite that can infect your cat if she eats prey already having the parasite or comes into contact with contaminated soil. Toxoplasmosis is rare among indoor-only cats.
*Eating raw or undercooked meat is the most common way that humans contract toxoplasmosis.*
Bottom line----To prevent getting infected with the disease, whenever you scoop or clean the litter box, wear disposable gloves and wash your hands immediately afterward.

You can still live your cat but you should not change the litter box if you are planning getting pregnant or already pregnant......why? You can get toxemia which is life threatening to the fetus from the cat's urine and poop. Plus, cats trying to kill the baby is just "old wives" tales. But, you should never leave a baby alone with any animal!

No, don't get rid of kitty. Just be very careful changing the litterbox. Let your bf do it. There is something known as toxoplasmosis MAYBE in the kitty's feces which could be harmful to the fetus so care is necessary not getting rid of kitty. See: http://www.ahealthyme.com/topic/kittylitter

I cant remember the exact name of it but pregnant women can get a bacterial infection from messing with cat feces. Its the changing their litter box thing but some people say they carry traces around with them and if it get on the woman and she getd infected she can miscarry. Usually preganat women just dont clean their litter box and dont pick them up much and lots of handwashing
