There's no easy way to cause an abortion. (Or it would have happened a lot more) Also, any damage that could hurt the baby that badly could also endanger the mother.

OTOH, it would have to be pretty serious to cause significant damage - not just walking into the counter. Pregnant women aren't made of glass, and there's a decent cushion between the baby and the outside, especially at 9 weeks when the baby is not very big.

Probably not. At 9 weeks along, the baby is maybe around 10cm long or less, and very low down in your abdomen, around your pubic bone or just above there. If you're hit on the side of your stomach, your baby is probably nowhere near there.
And in any case, they're pretty well padded with skin, fat, muscle, uterus and amniotic sac cushioning them from impacts. All the same, take it easy, and try and avoid impacts.
If you notice cramping starting, or spotting, do check in with your midwife or obstetrician, and consider a check-up with a doppler or ultrasound.

Not likely. It all depends on how hard you hit it. But the baby is really protected in there so I wouldn't worry about it unless you start getting sick or spotting. if that happens get to the doctor right away to get checked out. But don't stress I'm sure your fine

Generally, no. The fetus is well protected in early pregnancy. You need something like a car wreck to do that. For instance, women who fall from horses don't miscarry in early pregnancy. Even if they do, it is usually unrelated to the fall.

Probably not. Babies are resilient at that age. Just try to be more careful from here on out.

I'm not a big fan of sonograms. They caused hearing problems in 2 of my kids.

Not normally. it really depends on how hard you were hit. I was in a car crash at 28 weeks pregnant and had bruising on my stomach and slight pains coz of extra bruising but he was fine.

your baby is pretty well protected in there. I can't tell you how many times I have hit my tummy against a drawer or something. I've even had my 8lbs cat wake me in my sleep by landing hard on my tummy. Everything is fine and I am sure you are too...you can still mention it to your doctor if you are worried.

ya it could you might want to call your doc and let them know what happened and why it happened and see what they think they might want to do a sonno to see if everything is ok so i would go and see what is going on just to make sure everything is ok with you and your unborn child.....good luck and congrats

I doubt it. Your uterus is behind your pelvic bone and is pretty well protected. If you begin to cramp or bleed then I would go to the ER. Maybe just take it easy for a day or two but you should be fine. baby has a lot of cushioning in there to protect him/her.

It depends on the situation.

I'm sure if it wasn't a hard hit, that your OK.

The baby is very protected in there. So, it would take a considerable amount of force to cause harm.

If you are in doubt, call your doctor.
