i am 39 wks pregnant. the baby used to be very active up until 2 or 3 wks back. but now it does not move so much. however it does move during the night time and after the meals sometime. but still not so vigorously as it did before.
i asked my gyno about it and she said its enough if it moves 4 times after each meal and the baby seems to be doing that, although not every time.
everything else seems to be going normally.
should i be worried ?
please share your experiences. thank you.

the baby isnt moving so much because its running out of space, at this point its putting on almost an ounce a day! dont worry its totally normal. not much longer to go. good luck. x

At 39 weeks they get into more of a routine as if they were newborns. They also run out of room, so the movements seem slower and more deliberate than the good solid soccer playing you may have experienced earlier in your pregnancy. Follow the advice your doc gave you and don't worry.

The baby cant really move at this point. Theres no room, theres less fluid, and the walls of your uterus are as stretched as they can get.

Your baby moves as much as it can. Its normal for full term.

nothing to worry about baby is saving energy for big day, they get very active say 36weeks then it slows down a bit too hardly anything, if you feel at least 10 kicks even small ones everyday then baby is fine, but your right at the end so good luck because any day now!

As long as you get 10 movements a day everythings fine. They do move less as they reach full term as theres less room. I was permanently worried when I was pregnant what would happen if he stopped moving but I was worrying over nothing because he's 4 months old now. I wasn't happy until he was safe in my arms don't worry it won't be long now. Good luck with the labour.

Little one does not have much room in there anymore to move too much ... you may get the occasional kick or punch ... my first two were the same way scary at first but baby is fine .....your in the home stretch ... Congrats

I am 39 weeks and my baby doesn't do a lot of moving right now either... it is very cramped in there right now. It is normal to not feel the movement they way you used to. I do notice that I can feel the kicks from the outside sometimes when I can't from the inside.. strange.

No worries! My doc always told me that as long as I felt movement every 12 hours it was fine. It's more crowded for your baby now and there's less room to wiggle and move. I had the SAME worries but there was no need. Just relax and know that everything will be fine! There were times I only felt mine move ONCE in 12 hours and I would freak out but there was never an issue.

I can't say for sure because I'm not that far along yet but I've heard that as you get closer the baby seems a little less active because they dont have very much room.
