I just found out last Thursday that I was pregnant. I was so thrilled. Now, though, I am absolutely terrified and depressed. I'm scared of something happening to my baby ( miscarriage, birth defects..). I suppose that I'm depressed because I feel like now that mine and my husbands time is soon to be over and it will be all about the baby. We'll never have that special just the 2 of us again. I'm only 19, but happily married and believe it or not, we were trying for the baby. Why do I feel this way!?

I recently came across a colleague who chose their sister as a surrogate and was curious to know people's general thoughts on this way in conceiving children.

My second daughter is 3 weeks old. (oldest is 7). I'm starting to think about my birth control options so I will be prepared when I go for the 6 week appointment with my OB. Just looking for your opinions on the different options. Here is some extra info that may help you out.
+ not looking to get pregnant again for probably 2 or 3 years
+ have a hard time remembering to take the pill everyday
+ Cost obviously plays a huge factor
+ i am larger- so the patch isn't really an option (i've read it doesn't work if you're more than like 40lbs overweight?)[ or am i totally wrong?]
+ i've only ever been on the pill- used condoms- or went by ovulation dates....

What are your experiences with different methods? What did you like? What didn't you like?

I am 26weeks pregnant(after suffering a MC last year)and almost fed up w/my babys father. He spends money on everything else, but the baby that will be here in June. He agreed to car loan(which he did need a car), paying back a family member, and buys guitar amps, and singing lessons. I could go on and on here, lol. Oh and we live in his family house. Anyways, mine and his family has bought alot for the baby. But not a single thing has he got!! I have expressed how uncomfortable and upset that makes me feel, but no change. Because of being high risk, I havent work since finding out. Am I over-reacting?

ok, my bf is 20, im 25 in a week...im approx. a month pregnant with his baby. He has been having mixed feelings about this since we thought it may be a possibility. One day hes all for it, picking out baby stuff when we go shopping, th next he's not sure he can do it. I understand he may be nervous, and it is a big responsibilty for him as this is his first seriouse relationship and he has never even lived with anyone befor, and all of a sudden hes an instant "dad" to my two daughters from another relationship. i really gotta give him credit for the way he took on responsibility for these girls though. NOw we have been together since Ocotber or November, and I'm pregnant. Last night we went to bed early because he has to work ealry, so we just went to sleep, i was thinking everyhting was alright. The next thing i know its 2am and hes waking me up saying hes scared, and that hes leaving me. he got dressed and was about to walk out the door.

My period is due in a few days and I've had swollen legs and feet for the past two weeks. I also have cramps any time I fold my legs or sit with my legs crossed. I've been experiencing these for some months now but don't know what to make of it. What could be wrong with me?

The father of my child has been there for his son since he was born but yesterday when he had got caught cheating he started denying the fact, so i told him if he does not believe that he is not the father than i want him to get a paternity test, of course he refuse to have one done because he know and i know that he is our son, i dont want to take him for child support not just yet but if he starts to slack up when it comes to his son than it shall be done,so instead i want to know, how do i go about filing for a court order so that he can have a paternity test done even though he is denying his son and denying to have a paternity test done what shall i do,i am from Newnan Georgia

I am 24 and my husband in 26, we have bought our own flat about 3 years ago and have been married 8 months now. We have been talking about starting our family but I feel really scared that I might not be a good mother. We both work although I have a better paid job than my husband and decided that he should give up work for a year until we can put the child into nursery. But I feel that maybe I'm too young although we do want a family do you think the time is right or should we wait?

Sometimes you want to vent, or brag or have questions? Sometimes it would be nice to talk to another mother. I am a young mother and none of my friends are parents so hard to find someone to talk to. i know I cant be the only mom that feels this way!!! I have a daughter who just turned one last weekend.

Can you be a full time dad even though the father and mother are in different relationships????

My bfs ex-gf recently gave birth to a child in december, she also only told my bf about the child in dec. Well he and I have been 2gether for 11 months now and the mother wants him to be around much much more often, be able to take her places she needs to be, and babysit the child when one or the other can't.

They also live 45 min apart. The mother wants him to be a "full time" dad

How does this work has anyone ever known this? It sounds to me like she just wants my bf around and back with her...suggestions, comments, solutions even?...

I need a light weight stroller that is good quality. I have heard about the ZAP and mcleareans, but do not know if they are worth the money. They are expensice but would be worth it if they are truly good. Please help, I do not want to waste money on junk and the one I have now is too heavy for me.

I often read questions that are already closed and feel very strongly about the topic but can do nothing about it. is there any way to contact the writer of the question after the question is closed? Right now I'm feeling desperate because i just read a question from a pregnant teenager asking what to do with the baby that she doesn't want. She wants to know how to convince herself to love the baby when she hates it now. She doesn't seem to have considered adoption- that poor baby! I became a mom at 19 and have so much i want to tell this girl! Please can anyone help?

Officially it is hard to prove, but everyone knows that women do this, and quite frankly it's a drain on society. I'm all for welfare to get people back on their feet, but not to live off of. Besides, the kids of these mothers quite often end up being bad seeds because the mom doesn't care about their education, because she had the kids for a selfish reason.

I'm not saying all single moms do this, but you have to admit, some do...

My girlfriend and I are expecting in the fall. This is my first and her 2nd. The problem is that I have not been included into anything as far as the baby. She had to go to the ER and lied to me about it. She has distanced herself from me and I can live without her but not my baby. She quit her job, she has no insurance, she took 5 weeks to put in for state help with the new babies insurance to see a doctor. She has no car and lives at home. She and her first child sleep on couches. She also lives with a alcoholic father with a documented (multiple) history of violence. She has left her first child alone (20 mins) while she ran to do something while everyone else was upstairs asleep (child down stairs sleeping). I have my own car employment, apartment, insurance, and reliable people to watch baby when it arrives and Im at work My question is I know without a baby I can't fight for custody yet. But other than these things I have documented, what steps can I take to ensure I get custody?
