He thinks mine should go first and his last, but my parents wanted my name last, what should i do???

I would have the father's name last. You two may split...but the dad will always be the dad. It is a pride issue with men; so unless you want animosity, give the child his dad's last name.

Well tradionally yours goes first and his last he is the daddy there for his name should go last. But really it's your call. Your parents shouldn't have a say in what you name your child or how you name it. It's your baby not theirs. And your BF is right he can't put the child on medical insurance if you did put yours last. Again this is you and bf's call not any one else although I think you need to look at the big picture here. For Medical and your bf I think you should put your Bf's last name as the childs last name. :)

You are not married, so the normal western convention of putting the man's name last does not really apply. Perhaps you should use the name of whomever is going to support the child as the last name - Taxpayer, for example.

Do what people have done for centuries....be married before you have a baby so there is no question what the childs last name should be.If this dont make sense to you (it should) then your name first and his last.If you plan to have alot of kids by different men then save them some dignity and just give them all your last name. yes im a ***** but some parents forget to tell their kids this so they end up with five kids all with different last names.It will be easier for you also when you file for welfare.

Get together and decide what is the best way to go.I would honor my parents.They brought you into this world
and deserve your respect.Ask your boyfriend why it is so important where the names go.

it doesn't matter what your parents want it's not their kid it's yours AND your Boyfriends TRy to say the whole name together and see which one ounds better and more catchy
