Going to the park is not always an option and you also have to deal with work, home, spouse and friends. What do you do?

I had a very close friend who had a baby but turned to drugs. When the baby arrived she asked me if i would raise the baby until she got on her feet. The state took the baby and I went to court and all and ended up getting temp custody of the baby. Back in november they decided to give my husband and I full/perm custody becuz her bio mom wasn't making any progress. Well now that Nakeya is 19 months and can say alot of words, without me telling her to, she calls me momma. (which warms my heart) She also calls my husband Da da which makes him blush. With that said my mom thinks I am wrong for allowing her to call me mom. My mom feels as though becuz the biological mom and I were like sisters I should have Keya call me her aunt, either or no matter what she calls me i will be raising her for life. So what should she call me? What is fair? And who shud I be being fair to? Me or the bio mom? I plan to explain it to her when she's older, but what happens at this point?

Why is it that when we find ourselves rocking in a chair, it's comforting? I always find myself calm and start to get sleepy. Is it because when we were babies, our moms used to rock us to sleep?

I'm 4 months pregnant and right now I have a pretty bad cold. Its not very bad but bad enough. I'm not coughing as bad as before and that part is almost over, thankfully. But my nose is runny and I can't sleep because of it. What should I take? Any recommendations? Don't have any Tylanol u__u

I was listening to the "Addicted to Race" podcast and the subject had been brought up. So I figured I would ask you guys about it.

the baby boy was beautiful, but everytime i turned around to do something in my dream, and turned back to look at him, it was as if years had past because he grew at such a rapid rate, but never woke from his deep sleep.

Twins run on my mothers side of the family. And i think they might run on my dad's side as well but i'm not for certain....

my mom's a twin, my grandma's a twin....and they tell us that myself and my cousin(of my aunt whose my mom's twin) will have twins ourselves.

but anyways...how likely are my chances of having twins? Does the husband's family history have to factor in to?

My son is 13 months and 20 pounds, with meets the forward-facing carseat limits, but I was just wondering what parents of older babies did. Did you turn your child around as soon as he or she met the limit, or did you wait a little longer? My son just seems so small to me still, and I feel nervous turning the seat around.

I asked my gynecologist today and he said to wait a year or 2 until they have seen how it affects the american public. Many times after they release a drug to the public, they find out in the first 2 years that it has problems, or certain groups shouldn't have it, etc. He said unless she is sexually active she should not get it yet.

Sometime I get so worried that it is a bad decision to try to raise kids with the way the world is now a days! I mean will they even have a world to live in when they get my age? What will schools be like then? entertainment is such an important factor in our lives today, should that be such a priority? How do I teach them to be intellegent when they are surrounded by so much ignorance and carelessness? is it possible in today's society to be extremely successful and still be a gentle human being?? I doubt that sometimes, is it fair to raise a kid in a world where that's not possible?

I asked something very similar and got a wonderful response, so just looking for new outlooks!

while i am not complaning AT ALL is it normal for a child of two to NEVER have had an upset stomach or a ear infection??? the only illness he ever had was 3 colds in his life. Incase someone thinks i am not exsposing him to places where germs run free that is far from the case he runs around with other children his age about 2 times a week. I always hear about their kids geting sick all the time...just feels weird that my son don't. I do thank god though that he never has as of yet,
