Twins run on my mothers side of the family. And i think they might run on my dad's side as well but i'm not for certain....

my mom's a twin, my grandma's a twin....and they tell us that myself and my cousin(of my aunt whose my mom's twin) will have twins ourselves.

but anyways...how likely are my chances of having twins? Does the husband's family history have to factor in to?

There is a high probability that you will have twins. Your mom being a twin should greatly increase your chances. My mom is a twin and I have twin boys. My dad also had uncles who were twins and his neice had twins right after I did. Your husband's family history doesnt factor into you having twins but it could factor into your offspring.

Its a game of statistics. But you can never really tell. Everyone says it skips a generation but in your case your grandma and mom are both twins so it did not skip a generation until it got to you. Since you are not a twin you may end up having a set.

Either way, as long as the baby or babies are healthy, you should be happy.

Both you and your husbands family history plays a role. A lot of times the pattern may skip a generation. Even if you dont concieve twins the first pregnancy, theres always a chance another time around

I have two sets of twins...my grandmother was a twin and had a set of twins, on my husbands side his grandmother had a set of twins. Supposedly it skips a generation but who knows? Since my grandmother i'm the only one to have twins, one set of mine are fraternal the other identical. Good Luck!!

your husbands history will NOT playing into your chances of having twins...its all about your eggs...there is billions of sperm trying to find YOUR egg..if your egg splits, you will have idential twins...if you release two eggs, and both are fertilized by sperm you will have fraternall twins..

and it skipping a generation is a complete myth

you are certainly more pre-disposed to twins than many, but so was I, and I had two single births,,,so go figure

It plays a role in both you and your husbands family. Yes, you might be when you go to listen to the babys heartbeat you might hear two, or a VERY strong heartbeat because they might be rythmetic heartbeats.
