My 7 month old has problems with constipation, she has been to many Dr's and there is no medical reason, they just said to use prune juice and foods higher in fiber. My question is... which of the cereals is highest in fiber? Oatmeal? Barley? or the Mixed Oats? I can check next time I go to the grocery store, I was just curious if any of those helped anyone else?

Many babies get upset if their mom tries to cover up with a blanket when nursing. I know I did, and I know that my friend's eight-month-old did, too. Yet many people believe that if you're going to nurse in front of others, you should be completely covered up. Why don't they realize that bfing moms sans blanket aren't being indiscreet, and they don't want to offend anyone but do what's best for their babies? Wouldn't they be more annoyed with an angry, hungry, screaming baby who feels suffocated by a blanket than a quiet, nursing baby whose mom is still probably showing less flesh than many female celebrities? Even if they do happen to see a nipple for 1.5 seconds when the baby latches on/delatches/falls off/gets distracted/looks away...the baby is decidedly less noisy than an angry hungry one.

my premature baby ( 32 w 5 d) was bottle fed as soon as she was able to feed, right from the NICU itself. We bottle fed her at home because she was too weak to suckle at the breast. now she is 38 weeks old, almost term and has more strenght to suck. i have been putting her to the breast regularly, even at the NICU so she has learned to suck, but not the stamina. I have noticed every time i try to put her to the breast she fusses, squirms, makes faces and turns away. why does she do this?? right now she is being bottlefed chiefly my expressed breast milk and supplemented with formula.

i met a LC and bought the medela SNS system. if the SNS is fed by finger she takes it well, but if attached to tbe breast she fusses and gets frustrated again, even though she is still getting the same milk flow! why is this???

my milk is slowly but surely drying up, because she's not taking it direclty. i am so depressed that i am not able to help her latch on and breastfeed.

my baby is almost 4 weeks and she eats about every 1 1/2-2 1/2 hours with one 4-5 hour stretch during the night (or day she's still kind of random) typically how often do you breastfeed your older babies and how old were they when they started eating less frequent?

(First: Please DO NOT lecture if you are not okay with cross nursing.) My 3 and a half month old nephew is having a lot of problems with formula. He just throws up most of what he eats and is getting really skinny. He has lost way too much weight. They have tried EVERYTHING. Now he is on soy formula. My sister in law wants me to try nursing him and see if breast milk would do any better. Since she is ready to go back to work she said it would be good if I could just nurse him along with my 4 month old durring the day. I am supposed to try tomorrow. Any advice for getting him to latch on? Is it really even possible? I just want to give him the best. I have an over supply so I don't mind at all, I'm just not sure if he'll take it. (although I could just pump and bottle feed him, it would be much easier if he would latch on,) Thanks!

i'm having my fourth baby come april
With the last 3 i stayed the whole 3 days, this timei wanna leave asap and relax at home, it seems so pointless to stay so long.
i was thinking staying 24 hours just to make sure my bp and the babies was good and so they could check her hearing and stuff.
how long did you stay??
thanks!

What do you think about this:
My dad once told me that when his older brother was in his mom's stomach he would talk. He would literally say words while in the womb meaning that he wasn't born yet. My dad's mom got scared and she told my dad's grandpa. My grandpa then said that she shouldn't have told him because the baby talking meant that he was going to grow up with the ability to see and predict the future. Now that the mom told someone, the baby lost that gift. My dad said it was true because his dad told it to him.
Does anybody have a similar story to this or any information on things like this?

My mom says it's not a good idea, but as long as I have an uncomplicated vaginal birth I don't see the problem. I don't remember any excessive fatigue from my first two, and I really want to spend my summer at home with family, not at school during break. Isn't the baby's first checkup at 6 weeks anyway?

Would there be any challenges driving with a baby so young? Of course I'll speak to my doctor first.
