After about a month and a half I started to feel better. I got more sleep, my body was healed, he was easier to take care of, and I spent more time taking care of myself. Once I started feeling better I would spend more time on doing my hair, makeup, and getting dressed, it made me feel better to do this, I started to feel like my old self. Hang in there, it really does get better.

If you mean normal the way your life was B.B. (before baby),.... uhm, it will never be the same as before....but soon when baby gets a regular sleeping routine, you get used to packing everything but the kitchen sink when you go somewhere, you find you can survive on 4 hrs sleep, and you start liking "Eau de Baby Spit UP " Cologne. Life After Baby will seem perfectly NORMAL
If you mean physically, that can take up to a year for some women. If you think it's more than a normal amount of time Talk to your Doc.
Cheer up and Congratulations

My daughter will be 3 next month and I've loved every moment of being a mother. My life hasn't been normal since I graduated from high school which was over 11 years ago. My life is full of ups and downs but my daughter is my biggest accomplishment and I'm 23 weeks pregnant with #2 and looking forward to meeting my son.

my baby is almost 4 weeks old. what really helps me is having my mom come over and watch the baby while me and my husband go out to eat. im breastfeeding and since its too early too pump the only place we can really go is i hop or somewhere else close by so as soon as the baby gets fussy i can rush home and feed her but it really helped me feel a little normal again.
going from being able to leave and do what you want when you want to being stuck in the house for days with a baby can be a hard adjustment to make. dont worry though you'll get used to it. if things still dont feel right after a while you might want to talk to your doctor.

Once they stopped poking me with sharp things in my nether regions, I felt a lot better! In some ways it felt normal right away. In other ways I don't think I'll ever feel normal again. I'm still waiting for my brainpower to return to normal, but I've been told it will never happen.

It varies by the person....and by the meaning normal. It depends on your, your relationship with the child, your spouse, your home, your income and everything else that revolves around you and your child......I don't think anyone can really answer the question and it be right or wrong. It's just one of those things that varies by person!
