If it is formula it has to be thrown out 1 hour after the baby started drinking it. I think cause of bacteria.

How old is your baby? If he is only little and only drinks a little then I would be enclined to make up 2 bottles with 2oz in each and then if he only wants an oz then you can throw the rest away but if he is still hungry then you can give him the 2 bottles.

But you should really throw away any unused milk as when the dry formula is in the tin it isnt sterile so after an hour or so it will start to 'go off' so throw it away would be my advise but if iin doubt ask your doctor or health visitor to be on the safe side.

Usually when you are using formula you need to throw it out 1 hour after baby stops eating. Cause the formula goes bad and it can cause your baby to get colicky, sick (vomitting) from bacteria that builds up in the formula from it sitting there getting warm. But maybe sence all he drinks is 1 oz dont make 4 oz make only one oz of formula and as he eats more add another oz to his bottle cause that saves money on formula and your not waisting any more formula cause he doesnt eat that much. Or make two oz at a time! Thats up to you sence your mom!!!!

I just completed BIO 103 at the Univ of Maryland, as part of the course we were given 12 culture plates and asked to gather samples from around our environments, my top three samples for growths were moisture from the package of a fresh uncooked turkey, saliva from my tongue, and dog bowl water, in that order. All three were showing some development within 8 hours. I did not identify or quantify the growths, but if it was my baby, I would have to be pretty broke before I would take the chance.
PS got an A.

Officially you shouldn't because the baby's saliva starts to break down the formula right away. They used to say that it was still good for an hour if it's left at room temperature but don't reheat it. Those are the state regulations for childcare in ohio at least. With my own daughter I never reused formula after a half an hour.

Try making 2 ounces at a time if he isn't eating 4 right now. It's easier to make another bottle, than to be wasteful.

Throw it out, it's gross to re-heat formula; bacteria grows and it isn't good for the baby.

If it's formula, don't reuse it. Bacteria from his saliva starts to grow.
If it's breastmilk, use it by the next feeding (within a few hours). Breastmilk is antimicrobial, so no dangers letting it sit in the fridge a bit and giving it to your son again.

I don't know much about these type of things, though its always best to err on the side of caution. Very young children do not have their resistance built up till at least eight years of age. Its better to be safe, than to be sorry. So no, I would not.

You can, it will not poison him. I've done it for both of my boys and they have remained healthy. Just reheat it and re wash the nipple before giving it back to him.

Toss it! Your baby deserves the best and safest food you can give him! Why risk his health to save a few pennies?
