i'm having my fourth baby come april
With the last 3 i stayed the whole 3 days, this timei wanna leave asap and relax at home, it seems so pointless to stay so long.
i was thinking staying 24 hours just to make sure my bp and the babies was good and so they could check her hearing and stuff.
how long did you stay??
thanks!

csection at 3am, so it added up to about 3.5 days.

if you have a vaginal birth, and there are no complications within the first 6-8 hours... pretty much you can go home. there is no mandatory hospital stay, even for a csection... they don't keep you hostage, there's just a sort of standard time people stay and everyone just goes along.

birthing centers don't keep mothers very long... usually a few hours after baby is born everyone is home sleeping.

My hospital suggested that we stay for at least 24 hours after birth just to make sure that both I and the baby were doing well. Even though it was just a suggestion, we stayed for the 24 hours, plus another 4 or so while my husband finished up some work at his office. We figured that we were going to be paying for the hospital room until midnight, so why not stay an extra couple of hours? We ended up going home around 8pm the day after our son was born.

The hospital told me I had to stay at least 25 hours after the baby was born because they do some kind of test on the baby after they have been "out" for 25 hours. I had her on Wed evening at 9:45 and we left on Friday in the afternoon. I was kinda glad to be there because I had so many breastfeeding questions.

Most birthing centers allow you to leave after 4 hours. Most hospitals will let you leave after 6 hours. This assumes all is well and that you have someone at home with you.

I stayed 7 days because I developed pneumonia from the genl. aneth.

I had my baby vaginally no complications but I had her at a military hospital and I'm active duty, they have regulations with new parents you have to stay 48hours, so I HAD to stay the full 2 days and didnt get discharged until noon (had the baby at 628am) on Thanksgiving...after the first day I was ready to get out of there and go home but had to stay until they let me go.

i had my daughter on a thursday and was out by the following saturday evening... so, 3 days. i had a vaginal birth and was in labor for about 18 hours, so i was thankful that i got to stay there the entire 3 days, but i can see where you're coming from.

I had my son in a delivery midsection and have been given to pass domicile 5 hours later! If there were any problems or something peculiar approximately my son i'm useful it could have been distinctive. i do unlike hospitals in any respect, even nonetheless the maternity ward isn't the comparable using fact the ER and different dreadful aspects, I in basic terms did no longer opt to be caught interior the medical institution. notwithstanding if we necessary it i could have been greater advantageous than prepared to pass.

My son will be 2 months old tomorrow. We were only going to stay for 24 hours but his ped. kept him for another night to monitor his feedings. So we stayed for 2 days. I was sooo ready to go home after the first day!

I was released 12 hours after delivery. But then I didn't have any health insurance, so the hospital wasn't making any money off of me.
2nd child was a home birth which was much more pleasant and comforting :)
