this is why i ask...a good friend of my moms just became a grandma, her son is 21 and the mother is 16 (yea) anyway since this child has been born these two have not really done anything for him, they litterally make his mom do and threaten her by saying if she doesnt she cant see him anymore. (both her son and the mother have behavior problems and have to be on meds) well the baby was born early and weighed a little over 4 lbs then instead of gaining he lost and ended up in the hospital, where neither of the parents stayed with him they made his mom once again. baby is 2 months old and they take him to the hospital at least once a week and MAKE them keep him, and they dont stay there. if any of that wasnt upsetting enough to anyone, the grandma isnt much better, they dont have a crib for him so he usually sleeps in his car seat, two nights ago she actually told my mom she put him in a laundry basket to sleep, they dont clean they have cat and dog poop all over the house,

My grandbaby is almost six months old and still spits up a great deal. His mom has resorted to dishtowels to absorb the amount. He is thriving - growing and developing very well. She has been putting cereal in his milk since he was about 2.5 months old, but it has made little difference. She started out breastfeeding, but switched to formula when she went back to law school when he was 3 months old. He now eats food - and spits it up too. She has talked about it to the pediatrician, but they were unconcerned. She tried for a while to cut back on the amount he ate, but nothing has helped. He doesn't get much tummy time, because after a few minutes he always spits up and starts to cry. Any thoughts?

My daughter is almost 8 months old (in a week and a day) but she has shown no interset in crawling whatsoever. She is tho taking steps when we have her in a standing position. I've heard that walking before crawling is a bad thing, but i've also heard that crawling is more of an optional milestone. She is otherwise devloping fine and can hold herself up while on her stomach, She we be worried about letting her walk first?

To me, breastfeeding is awkward. I would never feel confident pulling my breast out in public or even in the comfort of my own home. I'm aware of some of the pros and cons of breastfeeding and formula. I've also heard that after breastfeeding, you lose some sensitivity in your breasts, and I wouldn't want that because thats one of the only things that "gets me ready" for sexual activity. What should I do?

6 month old who I think is teething. My son is a nightmare. Clingy, screaming, chewing on everything, not as much drool now, no diarrhea, not sleeping well, eating fine, just plain miserable!
I see nothing coming thru his gums. His ears have been checked also. I don't know what to look for in the gums. It has been a week of total misery. Does the process go on and on for a while?

I want to know if I should breast feed, but I dont want my breasts to sag. So would there be any difference if I used a breast pump and just gave it to the baby in a bottle? I know its better for the baby, but what will my side effects be?

My 11 week old only eats about 2oz every 3-4 hours, I do add rice cereal to her formula because of reflux. She is on prilosec for silent reflux. She sleeps through the night for about 6-7 hours straight and will then eat almost full 4oz with 4 teaspoons of rice in it. I always add one teaspoon of rice to each ounce of formula. She can usualy only get through 2oz then begins to scream and cry as if she is in pain. I feel like she isn't eating enough. She has normal stools on average about 3 per day. Anyone else have trouble feeding, could it be that the rice cereal is filling her up and she doesn't need anymore and could be full? Or should I not use the cereal?

so i recieved some of both~ I am going to take both sets to the hospital to see which one he prefers..(i heard the soothie ones they give you are difficult to purchase, and i dont want him to get hooked on them early!) but my question is:

which do you prefer the most? are there health differences in either (genetically, nobody is allergic to either latex, or silicone)

Thanks! and Have a great day!! **Happy Monday!**

Is it at all possible to tell if your 7 mo. old will be right or left handed?
If they have certain mannerisms like grabbing toys with one hand rather than another, is that a sign?
Or do I have to wait and see when he/she is older?

My baby has been teething for quite a while now.
Is the constant whinyness and irritability normal?
When did your baby finally get their tooth/teeth?
How long does it take for them to be a happy baby again????
Is this a never-ending process or what?
