I am shopping for a crib mattress, and I have no idea which one is best... please give me some advice on the best ones as far as SIDS reduction and quality go...

Just make sure its a harder mattress, not squishy or too soft. So your babies face doesnt sink into the mattress is why. Although, studies have shown SIDS is from an abnormality in the brain, that doesnt trigger the head to move when their breathing in to much carbon monoxide.

I like the inner spring ones, particulary the ones that have the extra support around the edges to prevent getting wedged etc. Mine was a Sears brand.

I used Sealy Orthopedic mattress for both of my sons and it worked out really good.
