Newborn & Baby - February 2007

My son is just now 7 months and at the 90th percentile in heigth and weight for his age. He's eating 4 jars of babyfood a day so to save money I decided to make some of his food to hinder the costs. Does anyone have any suggestions for foods that are appropriate and blend well in a food processor? Things like peas and green beans don't blend well (the skins remain after blending).

If I have breast milk in the refrigerator, say in a 4oz bottle, and I give it to my baby, but she only eats 2oz, can the rest of the milk go back into the fridge to be consumed at a later time?

What if you found out you did have a twin but didn't survive in your mom's stomach. They say that twins have a strong bond do you think that the living twin could communicate with their twin by their habit of talking to themselves? Just thinking about it?

iam now using Avent manual pump,but it is really worst pump i hv seen ever.(valve inside the pump goes away every 10-15 sec when pumping)
can u suggest which electric pump is good n affordable like Avent or Evenflo or anyother. i heard Medela , ameda pumps are of too much cost .

My younger cousin just had a baby girl Monday. She's pretty young so I've been trying to help her out. I offer to help her quite a bit. I told her I'd babysit if she needed to get out or even just come to her mom's to keep an eye on the baby so she can get some sleep. In a way I have been there so I can relate somewhat. She's single so I know that makes it much harder on her. I want to help her out in any way I can, yet I don't want to seem pushy about it. All I say is that she can call me anytime if she needs help and I call her to see how she's doing. Does this seem pushy?

feed my 17th month old baby rice at lunch and dinner everyday? I am a filipino so i get used to eat rice..my baby eats rice together with chicken/egg/beef at lunch and dinner..she loves it..I cook rice softer for her..thanks!

Hes on good start. Forgot the can of formula at my moms. Kinda out of the way. I have lipital formula at home do you think its okay to give him that just for the night? I also have step 2 formula I was thinking of maybe watering that down? Any ideas? Or should I just go get the reg formula?

is it possible that there could still be 2 babies. Just wondering if it is 100% accurate at 6 weeks if you only hear one heartbeat and see one little baby.

I`m breasfeeding my 4 mth old now and I used to breastfeed all my three children before for around 2 years each.
I use bra everyday, even at night.

Now, I hear that if you dont use bra while breastfeeding, your child will get your whole milk and become full each time you feed him. Then there is no need of frequent feeding like most of breastfeed baby does.

But I`ve seen country people who breastfeed their children and did not use bra all the time, their breast become big until it reaches their stomach.

Any idea about this?

My daughter only drinks about 4 or 5 bottles a day is this ok?(she is 6months old) Here is an example of her eating schedule. She has a bottle at 5 am than at 8am she has cereal at 11 am she has fruit(4oz jar), 1pm has a bottle, 4 pm has veggies, 7pm has a bottle, 9 pm has cereal than at 10pm has another bottle and sometimes she will have another bottle in the middle of the night. (All bottles are 6oz). Thanks!!!

My son used to poop 3 to 5 times a day but the past 3 days he has only pooped like once a day, Is he going through a growth spurt or is something wrong? He also throws up a LOT, the Dr. told me to alternate breast milk with gentle ease formula and it seems to help some. he always looks like his tummy hurts and he toots alot is this normal? this is my first baby and Ive already drove the Dr. crazy so I decided to ask some mothers on here.

I have a 6 week old son who has a few lil red bumps on his face and 3 weeks ago the pediatrician said that it was baby acne, but it's getting worse. Does anyone have any ideas as to what kinda cream or lotion might take care of this? Thank you for any ideas.

My babys father wants Alecia but I have been calling her Natalia for the past 7 months and he all of a sudden wants to have a say int he naming?? my friend told me to lotion up every day to prevent my baby from getting eczema but to me this sounds really odd! is this something parents pass on thru genes or just a rash the baby will get on his own i dont have it and im not sure if the father has this or not. this has been on my mind for a couple days ever since she told me that.
